Production engineering is a professional practice of manufacturing technology with management science. The goal is to accomplish the manufacturing processes effectively and efficiently. The curriculum of Production engineering encompasses the contents with engineering materials, casting technology, machining technology, physical and mechanical joining processes, tool engineering, metrology, manufacturing systems, automation, and Rapid manufacturing. In a typical industry, once the design is realized, production engineering concepts regarding work-study, ergonomics, operation research, tooling, manufacturing management, materials management, production planning, transportation etc., play important roles inefficient production processes. These deal with integrated design and efficient planning of the entire manufacturing system, which is becoming increasingly challenging with the emergence of sophisticated production methods and control systems.

Candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC / ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
Required Criteria based on Class 12th / Equivalent qualifying Examination - Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject.
Direct Admission Of Students Abroad-
Applicant must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (www.aiuweb.org).

Applicant should have completed successfully Mathematics, Physics and one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) in 11th and / or 12, as applicable in the respective boards

Applicant must have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks (average of all subjects of qualifying examination taken together) or 6.50 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination. In case, CGPA on a different scale is awarded OR if only grades are awarded, percentage / CGPA equivalence provided by the principal examination authorities will only be considered. Applicants should have a minimum total valid score of 1440 in SAT Subject Tests (Subjects: Mathematics Level 2, Physics and Chemistry).
Residential Requirement
Applicants must be Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin / Overseas Citizen of India who have completed the qualifying examination in any country (including India)
OR
Indian Nationals studying abroad.
In case of Indian Nationals, they must have completed the 11th and 12th standard or equivalent from outside India.
Admission to Undergraduate Engineering Program for the candidates from India at NITs, IIITs, Other centrally funded Technical Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/other Qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main).
It was a very beautiful and attractive college. Every place in college was extraordinary, fantastic, mind-blowing, and unbelievable. Besides the location of the college, there was , view was awesome. At night time, the college was full of lights and greenery
The maintenance is very clean and hygienic as the workers are always available. Sports is also encouraged and given highest priority and NCC is also available.Washrooms and rooms are clean up by time to time by the room servants faculty so it has been a very important source of hygiene
The infrastructure of NIT Trichy is well framed. There is ambulance facility in our college. We have different laboratories various courses. Hostels and messes are well maintained. There are badminton courts, cafeteria and many more facilities for the students.
