Everything is perfect here in CU. From faculty members to administration everything is A+ here. In context to education quality, it comes just after JU. The new technology campus is just awesome. I love it so much .
I'm doing BTech in Information Technology. Serves me very good opportunity here . Many companies arrive here for placement. The subject is also very trending in the market. CU has this additional quality of training students as per research orientation. Good environment here.
The placements here are absolutely fantastic. Many of the news is heard from our seniors are that the placement here comes after ju placement which is absolutely correct. Chemical department here is best.
The cost of the 4 years is around 35000. Because it is a government college , the fees here is very less. And the quantity of education is exceptionally good. Yes, the Money is worth it. Because nowhere in india Btech can be done with so little money.
I personally haven't enjoyed campus life because of covid. All our classes till now are held in online mode. So I cannot really say about that but as far as I heard , it's outstanding. But not as large as JU
Everything is okay here. But the length of questions is tremendous. I generally hate to answer lengthy questions. It would be better if CU can include some MCQ in their paper as well. That would do a lot in terms of marks.
Very Old infrastructure. British Time infrastructure. There is no wifi anything. The library is there but not so many updated books. There is no smartboard. Not very well maintained. It has a big building with the old structure of Britisher time. List is there but hardly working. And not well maintained.
I studied the Master in Finance and Accounts to gain some quality stuff and interesting things about Finance. It didn't goes into depth of many subjects. But it's has a huge syllabus with touch upon every subject and topics.
2 or 3 companies come for placement. Hardly 5% of people get the placement from during courses. They don't get the job because the quality of education not that compelling. The person who gets the job is just with a salary between 10k to 20k.
Very less expensive than any other college. But it's a Government-funded college. For poor this is better course to create own path.
It's for the people who don't want to study properly. Like just to have a Master degree. So I didn't spent so much on compus. Some Teacher are sober and friendly. Few teacher is very arrogant.
I prefer those who just want to have a master degree with basic knowledge. The person who can mug up can do better in this. Yes, no doubt this is the very inexpensive course you will in your whole life. Fees are very low and very supportive to a person who is not rich to afford big cost degree.
College have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments needed for smooth functioning. The college has laboratories which is well maintained , library which has all types of books available for course knowledge and also computer facility is available in the library which helps students a lot. Free wifi is available in the campus and hostels too are maintained very well .This all helps the students and also the facilities available attracts the students to join the college for gr
I am studying in this college because it has all the facilities which a student needs in a college. The fee structure is very nice , which helps the students very much. The quality of teaching Is also very nice and perfect for respective courses.Every teacher helps the student in every way possible and quality of teaching is extraordinary. The curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field . It teaches us everything which is essential for the students in placements .
I am from Chemical engineering department and the placement is too good . In terms of placement it is one of the best college which one would find in Kolkata. I have come to know through the seniors as well as internet that placement is good enough for any student.
Being an age old institution having completed its 175th year, CU is now a heritage structure with British architecture still donning its campus. Since its a Govt owned institution, the infrastructure is improving every passing day however there still scope for further improvements
The curriculum is now updated with CBCS system spread over 4 semesters with a research methodology paper. I would advise a mandatory internship for a period of 2 months which can further improve experiences of the students
The University’s commerce department has a placement cell but that does not appear to be active. Very few corporates are tied up and that too the offerings are not that lucrative. The dept needs to work on the placement opportunities for its students
In my college, classes have all the necessary facilities and equipment. Classes have smart boards and are big enough to accommodate around 80 people. Labs are accessible to all but being a commerce student i dont use it. Living spaces are clean and hygienic
I am pursuing b.com in Calcutta university because i have interest in accounting fields. Yes my curriculum is fully updated to give us maximum knowledge on my filed. Also it includes all the recent development
The quality of placement is average. More than 65% of the students gets placed every year. The average salary offered to a students is 3 lakhs. The placement process is easy because of the support given by college.
In terms of money, Fees is affordable and i am okay with the amount of money i am paying. This is because of the fact that placement opportunity is also not that bad and the environment we live in, we make lot of friends.
Campus of our college , although it is small i have make lot of friends. The best feature of our college is cultural groups from where i have made lot of friends. The students, teachers and support staffs are also very nice and good
My college is Viharilaal college of Home science department under University of Calcutta. It has got a single building . Labs are fully equipped with latest equipment. Classrooms are big and can easily accommodate 50-60 students. Hostel Facilities are available.
Presently , I am studying bsc honors in food and nutrition. I choose this course because this course is enlisted in the Viharilaal college which is the head of the home science department of Calcutta University. Quality of education imparted is very good as this college has a good reputation. Professors are also highly qualified and helpful.
Since it is a honors college, so we don't have placements. But we do have small period internship in different hospitals (not on the job training ) that gives us hands on experience in the field. It is more of a academic training.
It is totally worth it in terms of fees. Fees is affordable and costs really less as Viharilaal college is the head of the home science department under calcutta university. It is one of the reasons why I chose this college because it has good ROI,
Campus life is fabulous. We have a blend of students coming from different boards and places. We have a yearly cultural fest , ZEAL in which many programes are organized and we enjoy a lot. Regional festivals are also celebrated with enthusiasm.
