This programme encompasses the areas such as developing accurate and efficient numerical methods for solving physical or biological models, analysis of numerical approximations to differential and integral equations, developing computational tools to better understand data and structure, etc.

Hence, the smooth functionality of everything from the government to local companies depend on how we understand data, without which the progress would halt. For those who realize the fundamental value of Data and learn to extract and use it, there will be huge rewards in the current data-driven economy.
Therefore, for those interested in mathematics, Statistics and computer Science, this programme offers promising career opportunities with high-salaried packages and chance to innovate and reinvent traditional computing technologies.
The curriculum for this programme is designed to meet the needs of sophisticated mathematics, computing and data science in modern scientific investigations, technological innovations, business management. The programme has three components: Mathematics and Statistics, computing and Data science, which are perfectly blended so that the strong mathematical and analytical components that are built in the curriculum form the basis on which the technological aspects of Data Science are developed. Consequently, the programme, which is run by a team of committed faculty as instructors, produces a group of students with multiple skills in mathematics, computer science and Data Science.
The curriculum for this programme is designed is divided into two parts. The initial part of the programme focuses on acquiring fundamental knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. It concentrates on areas where mathematics and computing are most relevant to each other, emphasising the bridges between theory and practice. It offers opportunities for potential computer scientists both to develop a deeper understanding of the mathematical foundations of their subject, and to acquire a familiarity with the mathematics of application areas where computers can solve otherwise intractable problems. It also gives mathematicians access to both a practical understanding of the use of computers and a deeper understanding of the limits on the use of computers in their own subject. Further, this part of the programme is designed to provide the students with the skills of those disciplines of mathematics, statistics and computer science that bring together the core knowledge that constitutes data science.
The later part blends fundamentals of Computational and Data sciences. In this part of the programme students acquire the knowledge about industry relevant skills on Mathematical modeling, statistical modeling, data science concepts, machine learning principles and algorithms and visualization techniques. The programme will also provide with adequate domain knowledge to help organizations find ways to take major business decisions, reduce costs, get into new markets, launch a new product or service, find the sentiment of the customers and so on. Electives allow students to specialize in advanced fields such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data, etc.
Our programme is designed to go beyond traditional teaching methodologies from teaching students acquire fundamental knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and computer science to instil the interest to get introduced to cutting-edge state of the art data science technologies and gain hands-on experience via active learning through lab embedded courses and mini-projects, Capstone Project, and Internship.

Eligibility Criteria

 Minimum of 60% marks at 10+2 level /Intermediate/CBSE/ICSE/HSC/ or equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

Age Limit:  Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2003 are eligible to apply for UG admission 2023

• (Students who have appeared for /appearing  for their board exams and awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate by the notified date.)
