What is Chemistry
Chemistry is a branch of science that is the study of matters and what it consists of, its properties, changes, and chemical reactions between substances. Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Chemistry
Certain eligibility criteria are necessary to get admissions to certain universities, particularly for B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree.
For undergraduate degree
A minimum aggregate mark of 50% to 60% in class 12.
Candidates must have previously studied science during their 10+2.
Entrance exams or merit-based entry as per the guidelines of the university/institution.
For Postgraduate degree
The minimum eligibility criteria for a postgraduate degree requires a minimum aggregate mark of 50%to 60% depending on the institution.
Candidates must have completed their Bachelor's degree in science stream.

Entrance Exams for Chemistry
Entrance exams are conducted by universities for the admission process to BSc and MSc degree courses. Some universities also proceed with admissions based on the merit list.
IIT JAM - IIT JAM is an entrance exam conducted by IITs of different states on a rotational basis on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). It is a national level entrance examination to screen candidates for admissions to various M.Sc. degree courses at IITs. It is conducted once every year, and the admission is based on the scores obtained at the entrance exam.
NEST- NEST conducted by National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneshwar and the University of Mumbai annually. By qualifying this, candidates become eligible for admissions to M.Sc. and P.hD. degree courses in science.
GITAM GAT- It is an entrance exam conducted by GITAM Institute of Science every year for admissions to all M.Sc. courses in the institute.

Chemistry was marked as additional, and you did not pass it, so you may need to retake the exam. To be eligible for NEET, you must pass all three core subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). with a minimum of 40% marks for a OBC candidate. If you do not pass Chemistry, you may be unable to sit for NEET until you clear that subject
Because Chemistry is a fundamental subject for NEET, you should pass the Chemistry exam (by re-test or additional exam). To be eligible for NEET, you must pass all of your core subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).
Confirm the status of your Chemistry subject with your school or board. If it was designated as additional and you did not pass, enquire about how to clear it (for example, through a supplementary or re-test).
Once you have completed all of the needed topics (including Chemistry), you will be able to take the NEET 2025. Make sure you meet the minimum aggregate marks necessary for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together.
NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test) is a national-level entrance exam in India for undergraduate medical courses (MBBS, BDS, and other associated degrees) in medical colleges around the country. The chapters on 3D geometry and vectors are important and have a good weightage in the JEE exams:
JEE Main: 3D geometry and vectors contribute 15% to the syllabus. These chapters require a strong understanding of spatial reasoning and vector operations.

To get admission in MBBS through NEET, your eligibility is determined mainly by your overall academic performance, particularly in your 12th-grade subjects, and your NEET score. Here's how it works based on your academic record:
Eligibility Criteria for NEET Admission
1. Minimum Percentage in 12th Grade:
- For General category students, you normally need a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology put together in your 12th-grade exams.
- For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the aggregate is 40%.
- Your overall percentage of 45% is below the minimum requirement for general category candidates. However, if you're from a reserved category, you may still qualify for NEET eligibility as long as you meet the category-specific requirement.
2. Subject-Specific Marks:
- Physics-56%, Chemistry-44%, and Biology-54% marks look fairly alright for NEET eligibility so far, provided your aggregate is above the cutoff as of your category.
The score in Biology is satisfactory for NEET eligibility.
3. NEET Examination:
- NEET eligibility does not rely on your board percentage. You are eligible for NEET if you meet the minimum aggregate marks in your 12th subjects.

As an IB student giving the NIOS on-demand exam and opting for Transfer of Credit, it is important to select the subjects wisely as in accordance with your aspirations in NEET. Here is the step to take the correct call:
Subjects for Transfer of Credit (TOC)
The subject can be transferred to their account with up to two subjects where they have really performed well. According to their IB marks, it has been considered good selections for TOC as listed below:
Hindi (4): As it’s your highest score, transferring this credit ensures you can focus on NEET-related subjects.
English (3): Since language subjects are not required for NEET, transferring English is logical and reduces your workload.
Subjects for On-Demand Examination
