Hello aspirant,
It is compulsory for the students residing in Maharashtra to appear for MHT-CET for seeking admission to B.E./B. Tech. The score of MHT-CET shall be preferred over JEE(Mains) for admission to B.E./B. Tech colleges in the state.
It is important for candidates to meet the eligibility criteria of MHT CET not just to appear for the exam but also for admissions the various undergraduate engineering programmes offered by colleges in the state.
Admission through JEE main score is also possible, as some amount of seats are to be kept reserved for AI category students, but it has a very tough to get them as students from outside the state will also apply for those seats. You can also enroll for private university entrance exams conducted by various colleges and get admission for engineering. But without JEE main or MHT-CET score, admission is not possible.
Hope this helps,
All the Best!!
