The college has a Legal Aid Cell Department that provides legal aid to the poor and weaker sections of society. The LAC at AMU Malappuram Centre organizes various awareness events in the local area, especially, Nukkad Natak and legal aid camps in the tribal areas. Mr. Ghalib Nashter was the first chairperson of the cell and currently, Dr. Naseema PK is the chairperson, and Dr. Azmat Ali and Mr. Mohd Abu Shahid are the members of the Legal Aid Cell of the department.
