The College library of the institute can claim to have an outstanding collection of books, reports, and journals in Social Sciences in the Eastern region of the Country. The library is housed in its separate building on three floors. The second floor of the library was inaugurated on 1st December 2011by Sri Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar. Late Smt. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India also paid a visit to this library on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of this Institute on 4th January 1984.

Recently a new guest house, named after Late Madhu Limaye, a famous Indian Socialist and Activist, has been constructed which is yet ready for use.

The College of Social Studies has a full-fledged computer lab equipped with 25 computers with high-speed broadband internet access. The computer lab has been developed to enable the doctoral fellows to have adequate exposure to computer-based research tools and access to research and development networks across the globe. With the support from ICSSR, the institute is beginning to access some of the key e-resources, which the researchers can access in the computer lab for full benefits. Advanced statistical software is also accessible on a case basis and is in consideration of unrestricted availability. The facilitates are also used by the project staff working under different research projects of the institute.
The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
The Institute has air-conditioned Conference Halls with all modern audio-visual facilities and good sitting arrangements. The largest conference hall has a capacity of 230 persons where generally conferences, seminars, and public lectures are organized. Apart from these air-conditioned Conference and Seminar Halls, the Institute has an open Hall on the second floor of the building of has a capacity of 80-100 persons generally used for training, workshops, and other miscellaneous purposes.
