Bharath Niketan Engineering College (BNEC), Theni, conducts a wide range of engineering and management courses. The college, which is a constituent college affiliated to Anna University and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has a merit-based admission procedure, as envisaged by Anna University, Chennai.
The admission to BNEC is usually in the months after announcing 12th standard results, in line with Anna University admission schedule. The undergraduate engineering programs are admitted via single window procedure based on merit list drawn by Anna University. The procedure serves to make selection transparent and unbiased among all candidates.
Eligibility differs for every program. For B.E./B.Tech programs, the candidate should have a 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as major subjects. Postgraduate applicants usually require a bachelor's degree in a relevant stream to the desired course with a minimum percentage requirement as per Anna University.
Application Process
Application process in Bharath Niketan Engineering College differs according to course:
For B.E./B.Tech courses
1. Pass 12th standard examination with required subjects and minimum marks.
2. Apply for single window counseling of Anna University.
3. Proceed with counseling procedure and choose BNEC as per your preference and rank.
4. If allotted, report to BNEC for verification of documents and confirmation of admission.
For M.E., MBA, and MCA programs:
1. Apply and appear for the TANCET exam conducted by Anna University.
2. Apply for counseling process once the TANCET result is announced.
3. Go to counseling, opting for BNEC and your desired course.
4. Complete the admission procedures at BNEC if alloted.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.E./B.Tech: BNEC provides several B.E. and B.Tech courses such as Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Agricultural Engineering. Admission is based on the common merit list held by Anna University, Chennai. Sanctioned strength for B.E./B.Tech courses is 390 seats.
M.E.: M.E. programs in Industrial Safety, Software Engineering, and Communication Systems are offered in the college. Admissions are carried out based on TANCET scores followed by counseling by Anna University. There are 18 seats intake in all the M.E. courses.
MBA: The intake of the MBA course in BNEC is 60 seats. The admission is conducted through TANCET, and the Government of Tamil Nadu conducts the process on behalf of Anna University.
MCA: Like MBA, the MCA course at 30 seats adopts the TANCET-based selection process conducted by Anna University.
