36 MonthsPh.D in Chemical Sciences shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including coursework, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned offered by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria
Master's degree or equivalent in any of the following fields: Engineering/ Science/ Technology/Medical with at least 55% of marks for general candidates, while 50% marks is necessary for SC/ST/OBC (non- creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled Person and other categories of candidates, as per UGC norms.
Admission Details
Candidates who have qualified in GATE / JEST / JGEEBILS / NET (LS) etc., but who do not have a valid award of JRF, or equivalent, are not eligible to apply.
