Below I have provided the neccessary details about the above mentioned college - 

Central Institute of Technology : 

• The college is a private/government college and was eshtablished in the year 2006. The college is affiliated to Gauhati University and the campus is about 83 acres with 259 faculty people.
• The college offers only three programmes i.e. B.E./B.Tech , Diploma, B.Des.
• The college has all the required facilities like separate boy's and girs'l hostel, gym, library,cafeteria, medical/hospital , wifi, transport, guest room etc.

Note : Since the college is affiliated to Gauhati University, so the NIRF ranking is for Gauhati University. Gauhati University has been ranked at 42nd among other universities by NIRF and has been also accredited 'A' grade by NAAC. The university is also UGC approved.

     I understand your concern and I am here to help you regarding your query !!

       Yes, you can get the admission into Coimbatore institute of technology, Coimbatore eventhough you are from other state which is Kerala. But, generally the students hailing feom Tamilnadu through TNEA are givem first preference here. And you should have the minimum criterias such as 60% aggregate marks in class 12 and at least 55% in class 10 also. But don't worry, you may have to pay some donations in order to obtain admission since you are from other state.

this is the overall cutoff for the colleges you have mentioned. You can go for GCT for a better option.

The fee structure is very less when compared to most other colleges. It is about 15000+/year for aided students but it is 50000/year for the self-supporting students. The facilities are very basic.The College provides Internship but the Internship is only for the final year students. They arrange Internships with companies like TCS. For the other year students, the college management encourages students to participate in Internships and In-plant training. I would say the hostel facilities are around average in there. The mess is ok. But it is more than enough for an student to get accommodate. There have 22 clubs controlled by students. Each and every club have student president and chairman. Every club conduct an inauguration and validatery function. Overall, its a good college.

      The hostels in CIT are not that great actually and they allow you to use kettles, heaters etc.., also, the climate in Coimbatore is really great and hence you need to keep the hostel dry. The hostel is comfortable and you'll have sport's during evening hours and the seniors were really good and friendly. The food tastes average in hostel and therebare more number of shops available around the college. On an overall basis, you can enjoy the life here and it's also a place to grow.

Hii,i am here to help you according to your query.There are no significant differences between CIT and TCE (Thiagarajar College of Engineering). If you are in Coimbatore, choose CIT. Or if you are in Madurai or if you think TCE is nearer to our home town, choose TCE.

MHRD Ranking for engineering colleges:

2016: TCE- 29th place CIT-34th place

2017: TCE-37th place CIT-51st place

So, from this you get to know that CIT is getting down 17 places and TCE is still struggling to enter into the top 30 places.

Suggestions based on Course:

CIT and TCE offer the same courses, except that CIT offers Chemical Engineering additionally. To be noted, TCE takes the 1st place in Research all over India. And I am damn sure Thiagarajar College of Engineering is a good choice than CIT.

Go for Thiagarajar College of Engineering.

As per your rank and previous year cutoff, the colleges you get are:-

You scored a decent rank in the TNEA exams. There are less chances that you will get admission in the Coimbatore Institute of Technology but you can try for admission in SSN based on your rank.

All the three colleges are good but I would suggest you to prefer TCE Madurai over the other two. It has a better rating and placement record than the other two. Preference givern to the colleges rankwise is given below:

TCE madurai-1st

Govrnment college of technology coimbatore-2nd

CIT coimbatore-3rd
