Considered one of the best engineering colleges in Kerala and situated at Kannur, The College of Engineering and Technology, Payyanur, having various undergraduate programs in Engineering and Architecture, follows a very rigorous admission procedure to bring forth the brightest and most deserving candidates.
Generally, the admission procedures at CEAT Payyanur begin from April to May for prospective students who are to be admitted in August or September; there are various programs under which admission forms may be filled in based on national entrance exams or state-level entrance examinations. B. Tech programs, on the merit of the students' performance in either JEE Main or KEAM, admit the selected students. Further, B.Arch aspirants must also qualify for and appear in present the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).
The minimum eligibility for admission to bachelor programs requires 10+2 from any recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. Students wishing to apply for the B.Tech programs must qualify in the entrance test conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala (KEAM) or JEE Main.
Application Process
For B.Tech:
1. Qualifying KEAM or JEE Main.
2. Register for the centralized allotment done by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala.
3. For management quota-35 percent seats, apply directly to the college on the basis of PCM marks in the 12th standard and KEAM/JEE Main scores.
4. For NRI quota-15 percent seats, apply based on marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the 12th standard.
For B.Arch:
1. Qualifying in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).
2. College application based on NATA score and required documents.
Degree-wise Admission process
B.Tech: CEAT Payyanur offers a B.Tech program under various branches such as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering, Data Science, and Internet of Things, as well as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The admission process for the B.Tech programs is according to the rules set out by the AICTE, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, and the Government of Kerala. Out of the total number of seats, 50% are allotted through centralized allotment by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations based on performance in either KEAM or JEE Main, while the remaining 50% is distributed into a 35% management quota and a 15% NRI quota.
B.Arch: CEAT Payyanur offers admission to 40 candidates for the B.Arch program on merit based upon scores obtained in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). The candidates who qualify NATA will be called for admission to the B.Arch course.
