Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Cheruvandoor Campus, Kottayam has a very comprehensive and competitive admission procedure for aspiring consumers of pharmacy since the parent institution has always been reckoned for quality education in pharmaceutical sciences. The institute is duly recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), thereby ensuring very high standards of education and training.

Degree-wise Admission Procedure
B. Pharm: The application for B. Pharm at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is for an intake of 60 students, approved by the appropriate authority. The admission process for B.Pharm is fairly divided. 50% of seats are filled through Government allotment while rest get admission according to a rank list made by CPAS under government criteria so as to assure the best balance of the admission process.
M.Pharm Pharmacology: M.Pharm Pharmacology has a sanctioned intake of 15 students. The admission process for this postgraduate course is also divided, here the state government allots half of the seats. The remaining half of the seats are filled by preparing a rank list based on B.Pharm marks (weightage of 25%) and valid GPAT score (weightage of 75%). Candidates are also considered when applicants with GPAT qualification are lacking, thereby extending more opportunities to a wide range of applicants.
B. Pharm Lateral Entry: A B.Pharm Lateral Entry is another kind of program that the institute offers. Admission eligibility into this lateral entry program is based on the cumulative marks obtained in the D.Pharm (Diploma in Pharmacy) course. This lateral entry direct access to the second-year B.Pharm course provides an avenue for upgrading educational qualifications of persons with relevant diploma qualifications.
