The College was established in the year 1965, the university library came up only in the month of April of 1967 and initially started functioning with merely 997 books positioned in a room in the Commerce College, Dibrugarh. This small library was located along with the Department of Education formerly known as the Institute of Education. The library was shifted from the Commerce College to the new permanent university campus at Rajabheta sometime in between the months of August-September of the same year and housed in an old tea factory along with some other departments and administrative blocks. In the beginning, the library had a membership strength of only 5 teachers, 3 research scholars, and less than 100 students from 4 science and 7 humanities and social sciences departments including the Department of Law and Institute of Education. These small groups of users were served initially by the newly appointed Deputy Librarian, Mr. Ramesh Phukan, and two L. D. Assistants. The Dibrugarh University library got a right start with the proficient leadership of Mr. Ramesh Phuket, an M.A. with Diploma in Library Science from BHU, as he already had huge work experience as Senior Deputy Librarian of State Central Library at Shillong under the able guidance of a famous Librarian Mr. Ram Go swami, renowned in his own stature as a library professional of Assam. The library was gradually intensifying its activities and services and by the end of the year 1982, the total library collection crossed 1,00,000 in volumes.
The College Sports Board looks after the Sports and Cultural activities of the students of the University and the affiliated colleges by regularly organizing Annual Sports Meet, Tournaments, and Cultural Meet. The University at times sends teams to various Inter Varsity Tournaments. The University has a developed Sports Ground, Volleyball Court, Indoor Stadium, Gymnasium, etc. with the necessary infrastructure for the promotion of games and sports. Moreover, some of the hostels of the University also have their own multi-gym facilities.

Two more hostels have been constructed recently for the students of Dibrugarh University Institute 0f Engineering & Technology exclusively which, accommodates about 260 engineering students.

The College main auditorium "Ragnar" of the University is a major facility on the campus. The auditorium is equipped with sophisticated light and acoustic systems and has a capacity of 1200 seats. Cultural programs and other events of the University are organized regularly at Rangghar.
The college has a Gym facility for the students.
The College Health Centre was first established in 1971 with a full-time Pharmacist and visiting Physicians of the Assam Medical College and Hospital. A full-time Medical Officer was appointed after 2 years in 1973. A regular compounder was provided in 1979 and a Medical Attendant cum Peon was employed in 1982. At present, there are 16 staff members at the Health Centre. In 1982 the Health Centre was shifted from a temporary building near the Old main entrance of the University to an Assam type building in front of the Girls’ Hostel. The need for a better equipped Health Centre led to the construction of a two-storied building in April 2008 and by March 2009 the Health Centre was shifted to this new building with 10 beds, a Minor Operation Theater with attached sterilizing room, and a Laboratory.
The College Guest House is located against a picturesque backdrop of lush green tea gardens. The Guest House has two wings: The New Wing and the Old Wing. The New Wing consists of 13 Standard Rooms, 16 Deluxe Rooms, and 6 Suites and the Old Wing consists of 6 Regular Rooms and 5 Budget Rooms all of which are maintained in a manner ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay for all guests.
The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. The University has three canteens and one cafeteria for the benefit of students, faculty members, officers, and employees. Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering & Technology Cafeteria is housed in a recently constructed modern double storied building and is located within the Institute’s campus offering hygienic food and delicious food to the staff & students.
The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students. 1.Programming Laboratory 2. Object-Oriented Programming Laboratory 3. Computer Networking Laboratory 4. Artificial Intelligence Laboratory 5. Image Processing Laboratory 6. Internet of Things (IoT) Laboratory
The College has four laboratories including two programming Laboratories, one Network and Security Laboratory, and one Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. The department has continuously used ICT based learning methodology with an MOU with Spoken Tutorial at IIT Bombay funded by MHRD Govt. of India. The materials and resources for a few languages like C, C++, Java, Python, LEX are being used from resources uploaded in the Spoken Tutorial site. In the last academic session of 2016, a Big Data workshop has been organized at the Department of CSE DUIET under the NEQIP Phase II scheme funded by AICTE. The department has been effectively practicing outcome-based education since its establishment in 2009.
The college has the Banks/ATM facilities for all students.

The college also provides workshop facilities for all the students.
Dibrugarh University Institue of Engineering And Technology (DUIET) , Dibrugarh University has a very good campus. The infrastucture is also pretty good with all the laboratories well equipped. It also has a dedicated library full of engineering study materials apart from the central library of the university.
The college has some necessary facilities and equipments, but it obviously is not enough for a student. There are projectors, well-informative library, and hostel. There is wifi in the hostel but it doesn't pertain to the need of all hostelites due to range problems. Living spaces are clean and the food is average.
All the necessities are available. Smart boards and WiFi is available in the classrooms and WiFi is also available in hostels. The classrooms are clean and maintained properly time to time. Though some parts needs improvement.

You have high chances of getting into DUIET with a score of 63.7 percentile.I am telling this on the basis of past year cutoff trends of this college.So this year the ratios may differ as it depends on the amount and quality of applicants that apply.So best of luck.
