Gopal Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Koraput, is a constituent college affiliated to the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology and approved by AICTE, as well as accredited by NAAC. The institution offers a holistic process of admission for young engineers, taking merit-based admissions through national-level and state-level entrance tests into account.

GKCET's admission is mostly based on the performance of candidates in two significant entrance exams: the national-level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) and the state-level Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). Both the exams are the door to students who want to get admitted into the institute's various B.Tech courses.

Eligibility requirements to get admission into GKCET's B.Tech courses typically include passing 10+2 or equivalent exam with core courses of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The applicants have to meet minimum percentage marks as specified by the college and pass JEE Main or OJEE exam.

Admission Process

All the B.Tech courses are admitted based on a centralized admission system with a single entrance system based on the performance of the candidate in JEE Main or OJEE. The candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized institution with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. 

1. Entrance Examination

• Appear for JEE Main by the National Testing Agency (NTA) or OJEE by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Committee.
• For JEE Main, application typically in December and tests in January and April.
• OJEE applications typically in March, tests in May-June.

2. Submission of Application:

• Shortlisted students must apply to GKCET once entrance exam results are announced.
• Go to the official GKCET website for filling up the online application form.
• Complete the application form by entering correct personal and academic details.
• Uploading necessary documents, such as:
• Mark sheets of class 10 and 12
• JEE Main/OJEE scorecard
• Passport size photo
• Signature
• Category certificate (if selected category)

3. Payment of Application Fee:

• Pay application fee, wherever due, through the notified media (online gateway payment or demand draft).

4. Document Verification:

• Shortlisted candidates will be invited for document verification.
• Original documents will be brought along with the documents submitted for verification purposes.

5. Allotment of Seats:

• Candidates will be allocated seats as per rank obtained in entrance examination and document verification.
• Allotment process may be finalized with several rounds of allotment to fill up all available seats.

6. Admission Confirmation

• Pay admission obligatory fee for reservation of seat.
• Submit all original documents according to college needs.

7. Orientation and Classes:

• Report to college orientation program.
• Classes usually start in August/September
