Government Polytechnic College, Silli, is a technical college set up in the year 2013 in Jharkhand. This men and women’s college is housed in a 9-acred compound, with the aim of catering to technical education to the young engineers. The college got AICTE approval and offers various diploma courses in different branches of engineering. The institute has a faculty of 45 experienced professionals to teach the students effectively.

Government Polytechnic College has various facilities an extra-curricular activities to improve the students academic and other needs. The campus consists of a chaotic library that supplies students with numerous technical books and different resources. For learners who love exercise and leisure, sports facilities are also provided within the compound as other facilities described above. The college also spruces up its IT equipment to support the statements made as well as to establish the students with modern technology. All food services are available through the cafeteria found within campus while medical services are provided to attending to any medical concerns among the students. The college has provided a boys’ hostel for outstation students with an appropriate living accommodation away from their homes.

Government Polytechnic College, Silli offering these five full time diploma courses in one single degree programme. These are some of the offered engineering courses these are courses which cut across the engineering field giving the students variety of choices to make. Approved intake of the institute having 420 seats for all courses represents the institute’s capability to educate a large number of young engineers every year. Each diploma course has been structured to last for three years as a full time programme to afford the student ample theoretical exposures and appropriate skills in the desired area of specialisation.

Admission process of the GPCS is simplified so that the aspiring candidates can be able to get admission easily in the institution. It is easier to get through the polytechnic college if the candidate has appeared for state-level or any institute level test. At present, the college has five specialised diploma programmes each has seat allocation. There are 120 seats in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering programmes respectively and 60 for Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering respectively. The fact that all fees are consistent at ₹45,000 offering students the best technical education at a relatively affordable price makes the institute stand out.
