The institute offers a three-year diploma sandwich pattern program in the various branches of engineering. The Government Polytechnic Mumbai admission process is carried out through a centralized admission process (CAP) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai. Students who wish to get admission to the sandwich pattern program offered by the Government Polytechnic Mumbai, have to meet the minimum education qualification and register online at DTE Maharashtra to participate in the CAP counselling.   • Pass 10 + ( 2 years ITI) in any branch
Post HSC in Surface Coating Technology
  • Student must be a citizen of India
  • Pass HSC in Science with subject English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The lateral entry BE/BTech program provides admission to the the Diploma in Engineering students directly to the 2nd year of the BE/BTech course. So if your brother, wants to do the course of BE/BTech then he can apply for the Lateral entry program.

Now Government Polytechnic Mumbai is a Government affiliated polytechnic college of Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai. The college don't offers the course of BE/BTech in any stream.

To get admission in government colleges in Mumbai, the eligibility is as follows:

You need to have minimum aggregate of 50% in your 12th class and if you are applying after 10th, you should have minimum 35% in the qualifying examination such as MHT CET or a certification in ITT after 10th also allows you to pursue polytechnic.
