Government Polytechnic, Poonch Admission Process

Government Polytechnic, Poonch, is one of the premier technical institutions in Jammu and Kashmir imparting diploma courses in various engineering disciplines. Government Polytechnic, which has an All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approval, has been adopting a competitive process for short-listing deserving candidates for its programmes. Government Polytechnic admission cycle normally synchronised with the academic calendar i.e. mostly commencing from around August-September.

The admission procedure at Government Polytechnic is done through the Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) test. Government Polytechnic admissions process is based on having passed the 10+2 level or equivalent examination with the prescribed subjects. Subject combinations may differ from programme to programme, but most candidates are usually required to have taken Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Government Polytechnic Diploma Admission Process

Diploma in Electrical Engineering has an intake capacity of 60 students and is proposed to provide the student with comprehensive knowledge and skills in electrical engineering. Government Polytechnic admission will be based on BOPEE entrance examination result for Three Year Diploma programmes.

Government Polytechnic Diploma Admission Process

Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering has an intake of 60 students like the Electrical Engineering programme. Government Polytechnic admission of the candidates to the programme is through the BOPEE entrance test. The programme prepares students in electronics and communication systems.

Government Polytechnic Diploma Admission Process

Diploma in Civil Engineering has 30 seats in this programme, again following the same admission procedure as in other diploma programmes. Government Polytechnic admission to the programme is on the basis of performance in the BOPEE entrance test for Three-Year Diploma programmes. The course aims in providing a broad grounding in civil engineering principles and practices.

  • Domicile certificate (if applicable).
  • Category certificate (if applicable under any quota).
  • Recent passport-size photographs.
