Government Polytechnic, Sundernagar provides students with all of the resources they need. GP Sundernagar facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, a library, cafeteria, auditorium and many more. GP Sundernagar facilities include a sports facilities for students who want to participate in sports.
GP Sundernagar has a spacious well-equipped auditorium for all the cultural activities and various events. GP Sundernagar hostel facilities assist students in meeting their accommodation needs and requirements.

The college has its own hostel facility. It got one Boys hostel with a capacity of 100.
- Girls Hostel
The college has its own hostel facility. It has a hostel for Girls with a capacity of 30.
- Medical/Hospital
The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
- Library
The college has its own central library which contains large numbers of. of books, pertaining to different courses, latest journals, technical and non-technical magazines, newspapers (English and Hindi). In order to help, the students belonging to a low-income group and deprived classes the institution provides a free book bank facility. More than 150 nos. of students are being benefited in each semester by this facility. A library is fully computerized and an internet facility is also available.

The College has Red Ribbon Club was established in this institution in the year 2006 under National AIDS Control Programme (NACP). The Red Ribbon Club in the institution enrolls new students every year. At present, 197 students are members of the club. The club conducts regular activities to encourage Voluntary Blood Donation and increase Awareness of AIDS and its related issues.

Further, the eligibility criteria to do architecture assistantship is as follows :
- Aspiring candidates should have passed 10th class in the Science stream. A class 12th class pass candidate is also eligible to appear for the course.
