Janata College, Boinda Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has provides 100 seated hostels for the ST and SC Boys under the SC&ST Development Department of Govt. of Odisha. The Hostel will start operating from this academic session.

The College has Library is situated on the first floor of the main building of the College with an area about 1600 Sq.ft. and properly arranged and decorated. The reading room of the college is adjacent to the library. The reading room has a seating capacity of approximately 25 students. There is also a carrel for the teachers. Two computers with a broadband connection are provided for the students to get knowledge from various sources. There is a computer-based catalog system that provides information on the availability of books, journals and other material. Services: 1. The lending of books and journals 2. Reference service 3. Question Bank 4. Display of new arrivals, job openings 5. Internet facility 6. Downloading of academic material, result of University Exam etc. 7. Printer cum photocopier to take extracts of study materials 8. Reprography 9. Reading room 10. CCTV Camera surveillance

The college has a well-equipped laboratory for the use by the students for conducting practical classes in chemistry, physics, and biology. Each laboratory is maintained by one Demonstrator and one laboratory attendant. The students are advised to use the laboratory equipment with the utmost care so as to avoid any type of hazardous occurrence. They must always use aprons while conducting tests for hazardous materials and chemicals. They must take the permission of the demonstrator to use the equipment and must carry on the practice under the supervision of the Demonstrator. Damages occurred due to the negligence of the student and careless handling of the equipment or the chemical will call for recovery and other punishment as per law. The students must be in uniform in order to avail themselves of laboratory facilities.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has Health and hygiene: There is no provision for health care facility within the College campus. In case of emergency, the students and staff are taken to the nearby Primary Health Centre which is at a distance of one kilometer.

The college has an ICT centre which caters to the requirement of all the students who are interested to acquire computer knowledge. Students are encouraged to get the open facility of computer education in the ICT Centre. The ICT centre has 09 computer systems with LAN facility and Broadband Connectivity.

The college has a playground attached to the college. It is advised to all students to use the playground only in the off hours and not during when classes are in progress. In the event that they want to use the playground in-class hours, they must get written permission of the Principal forwarded by the college PET.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has Gym facility for the students.

The college has a convenience store facility for students. (like, photocopying facility & stationery, etc.)

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
