Jesus and Mary College, Delhi admissions for the academic year 2024-25 are open.
The infrastructure is very good. We have all the required labs and rooms. Sports and activities are given huge importance in my college. We have medical rooms. The college is Wi-Fi enabled. The quality of labs good and well maintained. The college has a lot of exposure to sports.
I cannot say whether it's good or excellent. But some of the faculty members teach really well. Syllabus was too much so it became difficult to manage everything. But at the end it all depends on how much you learn and grow on a personal level.
There was no placement assistance, and actually, we never thought of it. I have never seen anyone talking about placements on the campus. I'm not regular at the college, so maybe that's the reason I am not aware of this, but regular students are getting placement assistance.
The infrastructure of our college is beautiful. Our college doesn't provide hostel facility, but there are many PGs near the college at a distance of 1 kilometre. Our college area is known as Satya Niketan. The campus is beautiful, and it is under construction since the time I took admission at the college.
Teachers are kind hearted and friendly. They are knowledgeable and well qualified. No doubt JMC is one of the best colleges of DU And what I feel is this is possible because of the staff of the college. They took classes on zoom to wide up with course.
Many top companies come to JMC for placements like Deloitte, ICICI, E&Y, KPMG, Accenture, PwC, WIPRO, TFI, Brain & Co., etc. The highest package reflects from Rs 5-7 Lacs per annum. Various roles are offered in different sectors ranging from audit, HR Associate, Sales to teaching.
Jesus and Mary College has one of the best infrastructure among other DU colleges. It has all the necessary facilities and equipment. From big library, park and classrooms to lifts, well- equipped gym and what not. Also, JMC canteen provides you the best food from huge varieties.
I m studying B.Voc Retail Management and IT course as many people don't know about this course as it was introduced few years back only but it's a good job oriented course. The curriculum of the course is relevant and updates regularly. Teachers are also very helpful.
Placement cell of our college is also very good. Many top companies like Reliance, Marks and Spencer, Godrej etc., Comes for placements. The highest package in this course reflects from 4 lacs and the lowest package around 2 lacs.
The infrastructure of this college is very good. Classrooms, washrooms, labs, wifi, smartboards. Etc are very much good. Canteen is also very hygienic and food prepared here is also tasty and ambience is also good.
I studied BA here. The faculty members are also very much qualified. There teaching methodology is up to the mark. One should opt for this college. They all are up to date with curriculum and all......
The college is very much supportive. If you work hard for this opportunity and try your best surely you will get a good package of salary in reputed organisations. So try your best it you fo for this one.
The amount the course is also not so high. If you go for this then it is worth it. Not even a singke penny is wasted for this college. So you should fo for this college. I will highly remmend it for you.
Campus life of JESUS AND MARY COLLEGE is amazing. I spend my time here in studying, enjoying with my friends, taking parts in many activities such as carnivals, freshers, farewells, fests etc. It is amazing.
I just want to say you should fo for this college and do your best it will be your best part of your life to enjoy in this college with studies and activities both. You will surely get an opportunity which is worthful in your future.
JMC has one of the best campus infrastructure and crowd. The vibes are way different than compared to North campus. Plus it's a girls college so vibes always are different. . Provided with all kinds of facilities like the laboratory infrastructure at the college has all the equipment that is used for regular reaching and are important for research , Library is highly resourceful. There is a provision to access E-books and fully air-conditioned, auditorium, medical facilities, seminar hall, sport
I'm third year student of b.com programing. Being one of the prestigious College of du they have good , knowledgeable and well trained faculty and there is regular test by faculty in a month and assignment, ppts which we have to submit before exams. curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments that make us job ready.
Placement is quite decent in our college. Placement cell members of our college is very active. They keep updating us on daily basis regarding companies. Many top companies come to JMC for placements like Deloitte, ICICI, E&Y, KPMG, Accenture, PwC, WIPRO, TFI, Brain & Co., etc. The highest package reflects from Rs 7 -8 Lacs per annum. And average is 3-4 lpa . Maximum time opportunities are given to b.com hons , and economics hons student. Various roles are offered in different sectors.
It's worth it, my fees is approx 9k which is good. Getting all kind of facilities under this range is worth. So yes getting degree in this range it definitely fine. I'm totally satisfied with my college fees structure.
Campus life is amazing. We have beautiful garden, full of trees and beautiful flowers. The Montage fest, Kehkasha, Nrityanjali , mudra dance group, Echo music group are the best in our college. Teachers are really cooperative, supportive and non teaching staff as well.It is located in south Delhi. It is 6-7 min form Durgabai Deshmukh. Location is perfect and amazing. It is completely safe.
I really like the infrastructure. It has all the necessary equipment and facilities and they all are well maintained. There is regular maintenance of hygiene as well. The library also provides to the requirements of the students.
Every aspect related to business and commerce is covered. From studying leadership skills to learning e filing of returns. It is updated to the contemporary requirements for instance while studying income tax,it takes into account all the amendments.
The quality of placements is really good.Top companies like EY,Delloitte,ICICI bank visit the college and a large number of students are placed. There is placement cell in the college which acts as a guide for students. Moreover, students are given multiple opportunities to apply for internships since the very first year.
Per year cost for general category is around 16000 which is reasonable. Moreover, there are concessions for EWS category students.I do feel I'm getting my money's worth because of the plethora of opportunities the college provides apart from academics. The teachers are also very well qualified.
The college campus is beautiful. The red walls are really good to pose for photographs and so is the huge park where you could spend hours sitting and enjoying the different bird sounds and observing different plants and flowers. Its a treat for nature lovers.Talking about locality,it is one of the safest places in Delhi with Embaissies and International organisation's headquarters, Politician's house(Including PM's house). Also there are metro stations nearby hence commuting is not a problem.
There was hardly ever water available - not just to drink but also in the restrooms. The canteen food, in all its glory was greasy and bad and mostly junk. The wifi facility was a hit and miss. The library had ages computers.
While the curriculum was obviously designed by the university, teachers did a wonderful job teaching it. The english faculty is perhaps par exemplaire for second and third year students, with the exception of a few teachers who simply do not know how to teach literature.
So you have to pay to be a part of the placement cell. But placements are wonderful for people who are graduating in economics or commerce. The others, arts students in particular have very few good options and their pay packages are the lowest.
It’s Delhi university- while infrastructure was nightmarish, despite the fee you’re paying, the academics made it more bearable.
The common room is sad and is mostly hogged by society members. While the societies are many to choose from, often the teachers in charge make life difficult by creating issues about ECAs. The admin and the support staff can be rude and daunting but not always. Psychological counselling is also available but you’d have to ask your seniors about it. The location however is perhaps the safest as it’s in the heart of the embassy area.
I do think it’s better than most DU colleges.
The college has great infrastructure and the best part is that it's all clean and maintained. The college auditorium is one of the best in terms of it's equipments and maintainance . Classrooms and laboratories are well equipped with necessary techonlgical equipments. The Psychology lab is also well equipped and maintained. The sports department has a state of the art gym and has provisions for various sports. College doesn't have a hostel though but the corridors and classrooms are very clean
I have studied Psychology hons from the college and then went on to do my post graduation and further studies in the field. But my basic foundations were laid in JMC only. My teachers, mode of discussions had a huge role to play in making me love the subject . The teachers are updated with current issues and have a knack of weaving every day patterns into the existing theories. Discussion is encouraged which made me critical and a thinking individual, thus making me job ready.
In my field, majority of us went for higher studies rather than placements but there were a few who went to sit for it and described their experience as good. Students in other streams sit for placements and are quite happy with their packages and companies. I remember one of my friends being placed with Google, E&Y, Accenture. The placement opportunities are good, this also depends on the field you choose.
It's a college under Delhi university, so the fees was bare minimum. And definitely I was getting much more than I had to spend. The facilities, faculty, opportunity was amazing.
The college is in the diplomatic area, which is quite safe and well connected with bus, metro etc. The campus life is good with a healthy mix of discipline and freedom! There are various societies ranging from cultural to literary and one can join them depending on one's interests. Some of the societies and clubs are quite popular in the DU circuits and even otherwise in India. The Fest is good! Teachers and support staff is very cooperative and caring.
JMC College is well equipped with excellent infrastructure and facilities. Among the facilities, institute offers the students with the library ,canteen, Gymnasim, medical room, multipurpose hall which is used for various cultural activities.
Yes , I think curriculum is updated and includes all the recent develooments in the field. I am studying poltical science honors because I want to clear UPSC Exam and quality of teaching is excellent.
The college has an effective placement cell providing good placements to the students. Various companies and organisations visit our colllege for campus placement. As I have political science as my graduation subject I rarely heard seniors going for placements after graduation.
We have all the necessary equipments except for college wifi for student use. There’s only one wifi connection discoverable only near the common room and accessible only by students who know the password (of course the word goes around). We don’t have smart boards and we use projectors instead. Campus is very clean and full of greenery with a gardener doing his work around the clock. Canteen is always a go-to before classes. Theres lots of varieties of food and in very hygienic condition.
I’m studying BA Programme with Political Science and Sociology as my core. Although, most professors have been my strongest mental supports during hard times, I must say there are some who give you so much mental pressure that makes students want to drop off, and i don’t think that’s healthy. Nevertheless, teaching quality is up to point. I can’t say right now but I’m pretty sure I’ll be job ready by the time I end my course because mine is a diverse course covering almost all streams of arts.
Placement Cells have been very helpful in finding internships and part time or full time jobs for students. Salary may vary from 10k to 15k pm. Placement processes aren’t that complicated since it involves only sending in our resume and then getting a call interview from the respective companies or job centres.
Admission fee for my course comes to approx. 14,000 per academic year and yes I sure am getting my money’s worth.
The campus always has a festive mood. There’s always art in the air, be it from the dance society in the common room or the western music society in the basketball court. Every week there’s always one or the other department fest going on. Students can join clubs and societies. They are told to join at least one compulsory society which can be stressful given the amt of college work we have. JMC is quite isolated from the rest. Chanakyapuri is a spot for embassies so its comparatively quiet.
One minus point is that it gives overly importance to attendance because sometimes students may learn more from studying by themselves at home than from class lectures. Students find it mentally draining when it should be just a minor problem. The nearest metro station is a 10-15 minute walk from the college and JMC doesn’t provide dormitories or boarding so students have to settle for PGs and rents in nearby locations.
Hi,
I hope you are doing well.
JMC college and Gargi college both are absolutely wonderful in terms of education and infrastructural facilities, they both provide highly qualified lecturers which provide student best of their abilities and also a wonderful and a calm environment for students to study in .
The placement opportunities in the JMC college for BA history, is good & around 40-50% of students get placed in top companies in the placement cell. Highest package offered to a student recently was 3,00,000 lakhs per annum and on average students get placed with a package salary of 2,00,000 lakhs annum.
Top companies like Deloitte, KMPG, etc take part in the placement cell.
Gargi college has also good placements for its BA history batch students, maximum salary offered to a student recently was 5 lakhs per annum and on average students are placed with a package salary around 2-3 lakhs per annum.
Therefore, both these colleges are very similar in terms of education and placement opportunities. Hence, they both are great and you could go ahead with anyone among them.
I hope the above information helps.
All the very best.
