Jeypore College of Pharmacy, Jeypore Admission Process

Jeypore College of Pharmacy, Jeypore (JCP) is a self-financed institution that offers pharmaceutical education courses. The college is recognized and affiliated with both All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

Admission to Jeypore College of Pharmacy varies according to different courses. For undergraduate courses such as B.Pharma, the admission is determined through the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) score. M.Pharma candidates are required to pass the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) to be admitted into postgraduate programs. Meanwhile, the D.Pharma program admits students based on merit in the 10+2 Science grades through centralized counseling conducted by the D.Pharm Selection Committee, wherein some seats are reserved for direct management-controlled admission at the college level.

The academic year is usually set to start in the months of August-September; a few months would then be used for admission processing. For B.Pharma, eligibility requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. M.Pharma requires candidates to have a B.Pharma degree from a recognized university. D.Pharma has a requirement of completion of 10+2 in the Science stream.

Application Process

The admission process in Jeypure College of Pharmacy varies from program to program:

For B.Pharma:

1. Register for and appear in the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE).
2. Qualify OJEE with a valid score.
3. Participate in the counseling process conducted by OJEE.
4. Join the placed seat in JCP for document verification and admission formalities.

For M.Pharma programs:

1. Appear for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT).
2. Score a qualifying score in GPAT.
3. Apply to JCP through its official admission process (check the college website).
4. Go for counseling/interview if shortlisted.
5. Complete admission formalities if selected.

For D.Pharma:

1. Apply to the D.Pharm Selection Committee through centralized counseling.
2. Alternately, apply directly to the college for management quota seats.
3. Attend counseling on the basis of 10+2 Science merit.
4. Complete admission formalities if selected.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: The B.Pharma program has sanctioned intake of 100 seats. Candidates are admitted on the basis of their merits in the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). This is a four-year program, and candidates must have done 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology to be eligible.

M.Pharma: JCP has several M.Pharma specializations, each having a duration of 2 years:

  1. M.Pharma Pharmacology (18 seats)
  2. M.Pharma Pharmacognosy (10 seats)
  3. M.Pharma Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance (18 seats)
  4. M.Pharma Pharmaceutical Technology (18 seats)
  5. All M.Pharma programs require GPAT qualification and a B.Pharma degree from a recognized university. Seat approved for intake: 60 seats

Admission is merit-based in 10+2 Science grades through centralized counseling conducted by the D.Pharm Selection Committee; some seats are filled through direct management-controlled admission at the college level.

Generally, some of the required documents for admission are:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • OJEE/GPAT score card (if applicable)
  • Transfer certificate
  • Migration certificate (if applicable)
