KAP Viswanatham Government Medical College, Tiruchirapalli, is one of Tamil Nadu's famous medical colleges in India. KAP Viswanatham Government Medical College offers a wide variety of medical courses like MBBS, MD, MS, DM, and allied health science B.Sc courses. It is highly competitive and merit-based admission to the KAP Viswanatham Government Medical College via national-level entrance tests.

The college generally starts its admission procedure in May-June for the August-September starting academic year. The admissions are largely on the basis of national-level entrance exams like NEET-UG for MBBS, NEET-PG for MD/MS, and NEET-SS for super-speciality courses like DM.

Degree wise Admission Process

MBBS: Admission to MBBS is on the basis of the candidate's score in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). The college has 150 seats for MBBS. The candidates should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and should pass NEET-UG to be eligible.

MD/MS: The college offers various MD and MS courses with 30 seats in MD and 16 seats in MS courses. The admissions are done on the basis of NEET-PG scores. The candidates should have an MBBS degree to be eligible. Some of the specialties are General Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesiology, Paediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

DM: Super-speciality DM programs in Cardiology and Neurology each with 2 seats are provided in the college. They will be taken in on NEET-SS merit basis. Pass in MD/MS with allied specialisation should be passed by the candidate.

B.Sc Allied Health Sciences: The college enrolls 8 B.Sc allied health science courses with 20 seats for each of the following: Cardiac Technology, Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology, and Radiology and Imaging Technology. Varying admission processes can be pursued in the above courses, and the candidate may check on the college website for information.

As any medical graduate would know by now postgraduates do tend to work a lot with no time for proper academic teaching..People were more concerned about making the system function rather than teaching us
