MKES College of Law, Mumbai Admission Process

MKES College of Law, Mumbai. The process of admission here is structured and transparent, which is mainly based on merit, following the CAP of Maharashtra. The admission procedure is designed for the selection of the most deserving candidates for different law programs of the college. Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is used for under-graduate programmes, and all admissions are purely based on merit. MH-CET Law will be the basis of entrance. BLS LLB Integrated and LLB integrated and BA LLB and Three years LLB program are held on the grounds of MH CET law. Every year, The CET cell Maharashtra State announces March month as their time for exam.

General eligibility criteria to gain admission for undergraduate law courses include completion of 10+2 or an equivalent examination from any valid board. Application Process

The application procedure for MKES College of Law, Mumbai varies according to different courses yet follows a generally uniform process stated below: 

  1. Appear for MH-CET Law: For undergraduate programs, the applicant must appear in the MH-CET Law, conducted by Maharashtra CET Cell.
  2. Online Application: Once MH-CET results are declared, candidates are then required to fill out an application online from the official CAP portal of Maharashtra.
  3. Document Verification: The candidate has to get his documents verified at the designated centers according to the CAP schedule. 
  4. Choice Filling: Candidates have to fill in their college and course preferences on the CAP portal.
  5. Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on merit and preference through multiple rounds of CAP. 
  6. Admission Confirmation: After seat allotment to MKES College of Law, students must visit the college with all the required documents and pay the due amounts for confirmation of admission. 
  7. Institute level admissions: The balance seats in colleges may be made available after conducting CAP rounds subject to the discretion granted by the appropriate authorities

    Degree wise Admission Process

BLS LLB Integrated: It is an integrated programme for 5 years with 180 seats. Admission is through MH-CET Law scores and there are Centralized Admission Procedure or CAP. The candidate will have to submit his 10+2 and percentage which will be according to the Bar Council of India and University of Mumbai norms.

LLB Integrated: The college has 120 seats for this integrated program. Admission is the same as that of the BLS LLB program, which is based on MH-CET Law scores and CAP guidelines.

BA LLB: This is a 5-year integrated program with an intake of 120 seats. Admissions are based on MH-CET Law scores and CAP process. The eligibility criteria include completion of 10+2 with subjects as specified by the regulatory bodies.

LLB: The 3-year LLB program offers 120 seats. Admission is through the CAP based on MH-CET Law merit. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

LLM Business Law: This is a postgraduate course with 12 seats. Though the information regarding admission details is not specified, it must be based on entrance exam merit in the relevant field or qualification.

LLM Criminal Law and Criminal Administration: This is a two-year postgraduate course with 12 seats. All admission details are available at the college website or by calling/visiting the admissions office directly.

Required documents are generally:

  • MH-CET Law score card
  • 10th and 12th pass certificate
  • 3 years LL.B and L.L.M graduation certificates and mark-sheets
  • Domicile certificate (if it is applicable).
  • Caste certificates along with date of validity certificate
