NCRD's Institute of Pharmacy, Navi Mumbai Admission Process

Institute of Pharmacy is one of the foremost institutions that provide quality education in pharmaceutical science. The institute has a structured admission process designed to select deserving candidates for any pharmacy programs of the institute. The institute of pharmacy is PCI approved and provides pharmacy courses at ratio of diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.

The admission procedure for NCRD's Institute of Pharmacy begins with the notification of applications available for different courses. The institute mainly depends upon centralized admission processes conducted by the state authorities. For undergraduate and diploma courses, admissions are undertaken through the CAP managed by Admission Regulating Authority and Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra.

The eligibility criteria vary with the program. For D.Pharma and B.Pharma programs, a candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The selection is done on the basis of merit list prepared by the DTE, Maharashtra.

In case of M.Pharma programs, candidates generally must have a B.Pharma degree from any recognized university. Admission to M.Pharma programs may consider Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) scores.

Application Process

The application procedure of NCRD's Institute of Pharmacy, Navi Mumbai varies with the course to be opted. For D. Pharmacy and B. Pharmacy courses:

  1. Candidates need to register for DTE, Maharashtra Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
  2. The form will have to be filled online on the website of DTE.
  3. All documents as required have to be uploaded with the form that includes 10+2 mark sheets, domicile certificate in case, category certificates in case.
  4. Pay the application fee as decided by DTE.
  5. Undergo CAP counseling process.
  6. If a seat is allotted, report to NCRD's Institute of Pharmacy for document verification and admission confirmation.

For M.Pharma program:

  1. Candidates are likely to appear for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT).
  2. Register for the admission process as notified by DTE, Maharashtra.
  3. Fill all the application forms along with photocopies of degrees and certificates related to B. Pharma, a copy of score card of GPAT (wherever applicable).
  4. Participate in counselling process as stipulated by the DTE
  5. Attend admission formalities if selected from NCRD Institute of Pharmacy.

During the admission procedures most of these have to be the following documents:

  • 10th mark sheet and its pass certificate along with 12th mark sheet and its passing certificate
  • Degree certificates and mark sheets for postgraduate admissions
  • GPAT score card (if needed in case of M. Pharma)
  • Domicile certificate if required
  • Category certificates, in case of candidate falling in the category of the reserved class
  • Migration certificate if required
  • Passport size recent photographs
  • Any other document as required by the institute/DTE concerned

Degree Specific Admission Process

D. Pharma: D.Pharma - NCRD's Institute of Pharmacy has received approval to conduct the D Pharma course by allowing the college to award D. Pharma degree to an aggregate total of 60 students spread across three batches in the current academic year. The admission process would be through centralised process as stipulated by DTE, Maharashtra or Admission Regulating Authority. And Admission will be purely on merit basis through details hosted at DTE, Maharashtra website.

B. Pharma The approved intake capacity for the programme of Bachelor of Pharmacy is 60 students. The admissions for this course take place through CAP, conducted by the DTE, Maharashtra. This is purely a merit-based procedure, as the admissions take place strictly according to the results obtained in the qualifying examination along with other prescribed eligibility criteria followed by the DTE.

M. Pharma in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance: The admitted strength of this postgraduate course is 15 students, hence it would be assumed that the admission procedure considers GPAT scores and DTE, Maharashtra guidelines.
