Neelam College of Engineering and Technology, Agra Admission Process

Neelam College of Engineering and Technology (NCET), Agra, is one of the most distinguished institutes offering a range of courses in engineering, technology, and management. The college has institutionalized the admission process to select bright and deserving candidates for its courses.

The admission cycle for NCET usually begins a little prior to where the sessions commence somewhere around August-September. Broadly, the college consents to applications through different national-level entrance examinations depending on the program concerned. The JEE Main score is used for the undergraduate engineering programs, while the courses of postgraduate admissions may be based on exams such as GATE, CAT, MAT, and CUET PG.

The eligibility criteria differ from one program to another. For B.Tech programs, students are required to take Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects in the 12th class. Most of the courses expect the candidates to score at least 50% marks on their qualifying examination. Applicants for postgraduate courses must, in general, hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

Application Process

The application procedure at Neelam College of Engineering and Technology varies from program to program:

For B.Tech Courses:

1. Qualify JEE Main.
2. Apply through the CUET application.
3. Provisional admission process based on CUET and JEE Main ranks.
4. Report to NCET for document verification and fee payment if allotted a seat.

For M.Tech:

1. Apply through the CUET PG process.
2. A higher GATE score with an aim of over 85 percentile will be helpful for M.Tech applicants.
3. CUET PG merit ranking will be used for counseling allotment.
4. Admission in NCET should be completed on confirmation of acceptance.

For MBA:

1. Attend either CAT or MAT.
2. Apply online for the CUET PG process.
3. Counseling based on CUET PG ranking along with CAT/MAT.
4. Upon selection, complete admission at NCET.

For Diploma:

1. Get ready to appear for JEECUP.
2. Register through the JEECUP counseling procedure.
3. After seat allocation, all the documents should be verified and confirmed by the director's office.

Degree wise admission procedure

For B.Tech courses, NCET offers B.Tech programs in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Admission is by the rank of candidates at CUET and JEE Main. The total intake at the college for these four B.Tech programs is 150 with 60 seats for Mechanical Engineering and 30 seats each for the other three branches.

For M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, there shall be admission to the extent of 6 for candidates with rank in CUET. An M.Tech candidate desirably needs to possess a GATE percentile of greater than or equal to 85.

The MBA program of NCET has an intake of 60 candidates, and the admissions are based on the candidates' CUET rank and performance in the CAT or MAT exams.

Diplomas in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering (II Shift), having an intake of 30 each, are being awarded by the college. Admission for these programs is based on the candidate's rank in the JEECUP examination conducted by the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh.

The documents that need to be presented during admission generally include:

  • Mark sheets and degree certificate (for PG courses)
