Orissa Engineering College (OEC), Jatni, is a prestigious engineering institution located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The college is affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). OEC's admission process is designed to select capable and motivated students for its engineering programs.
The primary mode of admission to OEC is through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main), a national-level engineering entrance test. This ensures that students admitted to the college have a strong foundation in the basic subjects required for engineering studies. Additionally, the college also accepts the XE Engineering Mathematics examination as an alternative entry requirement for aspiring engineering students.
OEC offers five B.Tech programs, each with an intake capacity of 120 students, resulting in a total of 600 seats across all courses. To be eligible for admission to OEC's B.Tech programs, candidates must have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects from a recognized board. The specific eligibility criteria, including minimum percentage requirements, may vary and should be confirmed from the official college website or admission brochure for the current academic year.

The application process for Orissa Engineering College typically follows these steps:
1. Qualify in the JEE Main examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

3. B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
4. B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
5. B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Candidates seeking admission to these programs must qualify in the JEE Main examination. The college may also consider the XE Engineering Mathematics examination scores for some candidates. Eligibility criteria include completion of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
The faculties of the college are really good and experienced in their fields. However the classes need to be conducted with more regularity and sincerity. The syllabus could use some up gradation to be more in line with the industry demands.
Not too good. The electronic and electrical branch is too sincere branch and the cse branch too. I am a cse students. Lab are average. Quality of teaching is average. But by the help of senior on can achieve many things.
The quality of teaching here is very bad. There are only very few qualified and well experienced teachers. There is lack of proper platform for learning and experiences.mist of the teachers are not well qualified and they fail to give proper knowledge in their respective subjects. The college curriculum is often updated very lately and does not include recent developments in respective fields.I donor think so that the study here makes any one job - ready.
