PET Engineering College, Tirunelveli Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a No. of Rooms Available - 91 Max. No. of Students can be accommodated - 348 separate hostels for boys provided in the college. Hostels provide the students with nutritious and wholesome food and ample convenience for rest and unhindered study. The Hostel is provided with fans, tables, cots, chairs, etc. Spacious Rooms, Dining Halls, Steam Cooking for rice & idli, Kitchen, and modern facilities like an Automatic Chapatti Machine, Vegetable cutting machine, Atta kneader, Automatic Coconut scraper machine, PEST-O-FLASH machines for Insect trap are available. Study hours are maintained from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm and 8.45 pm to 10.00 pm. Boy students are permitted to avail themselves of a one-day outing on Sundays. The computer center is kept open to help the studious students use their spare time more beneficially through browsing and enhancing their knowledge. A separate Generator for Hostel is available to facilitate an uninterrupted power supply. A mineral water (RO) facility is provided in the hostel with a water cooler. Indoor games and TVs are provided for entertainment. We also provide round-the-clock Security. There is Prayer Hall inside the Hostel to inculcate religious fervor in the students. The ambulance service is also available round the clock. Any Special foods requested by students who are ill will be prepared and provided to them.

The college has a central Library is well-equipped Library having more than 36,122 volumes of books for various branches of Engineering like ECE, EEE, CSE, MECH, IT, and CIVIL, and also has books on Science and Humanities relevant to the students. More than 66 reputed National journals and 46 Magazines of different Disciplines of Engineering and Science & Humanities to be aware of the latest trends in Knowledge.

College Management has given ample opportunity for the students to excel in sports and games through excellent infrastructure. The following facilities for outdoor games are there. The college has a Common Computer Center is equipped with 36 Core i5 Computer systems. The Lab is equipped with an Uninterrupted power supply system for backup. The Lab is kept open from 10.00 a.m to 7.00 p.m for all the Department students. All the systems are connected to have 16 Mbps Leased Line internet for the benefit of the student community.

The College has a spacious canteen facility on the college premises. A variety of south Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college at subsidized rates with the best quality. The canteen has a big kitchen with a steam cooking facility and RO-treated water. The canteen is open from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM on all working days.

The College buses are plying from Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Marthandam, Tisayanvilai, Kayal Platinum, and Kalakadu exclusively for our students and staff at a very nominal fare. Women's Hostel inmates are provided free transport between Hostel and College in the morning, lunch, and evening.

The college Alumni Association was inaugurated in the year 2002. All the graduates of this college are inducted as Life members of the association. The main objective of the Association is to create a forum to bring together and facilitate the exchange of information among its members and to give opportunities for its members to have a firm link between all members. his Alumni Association also aims at the better placement of the students and alumni. Also, our alumni in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Gulf Countries have been rendering yeoman service to assist our graduates to find suitable jobs in Dubai and elsewhere.

The College is having a 24 Mbps Leased Line Internet connection, locally networked and connected through wi-fi also the central server is available for students for their project work and preparing seminar presentations. It also has access to e-books, study materials, previous question papers, daily circulars, etc. through the college Local Area Network. Students and Staff members can surf the net to impart the latest trends in their field of interest through the well-equipped computer center as well as other labs.
