Poojya Sane Guruji Vidya Prasarak Mandal's College of Pharmacy, Shahada Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has boys and Eklavya Hostel for ST students. These hostels are constructed adjoining the college building. Elaborate arrangements have been made in the hostel to provide academically conducive, safe, secure and above all economically affordable accommodation with a homely ambiance. The boy's hostel is a two-storied building having 75 rooms and a capacity of 225 boys. Eklavya hostel is exclusively constructed for economically poor and underprivileged tribal students with 30 rooms and an occupancy of 60 students. The hostel students interested in sports may avail all the facilities in the college playground. The residents can participate in any of the activity of sports within college hours, on holidays also with the prior permission of the college authorities. Yoga is also practiced outside the auditorium.

A first aid box is available in the hostel. In medical emergencies, students are taken to the hospital closer to the hostel. The Management Body of the Mandal extends the services of a well-equipped cardiac ambulance in emergency cases. We are proud to say that our alumni (doctors) extend their medical service in emergencies.

• The college has a Girls' hostel a two-storied building situated on the banks of the Susan and Gomai rivers with an occupancy of 410 girls. In order to increase the access of girl students, the college provides counseling, permission to pay fees through installments, guidance regarding various government scholarships, sufficient hostel accommodations, and various financial aids to almost all desirous girl students. Besides this, the college has adopted the following strategies to increase the access of women students.
• Hostel Advisory Committee is appointed for academic and personal advice.
• Hostel accommodation with all amenities, meals, and breakfast is also availed on the hostel premises.
• The safety and security of girl students are given top priority.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students. A first aid box is available in the hostel. The college has Gymnasium is equipped with a magnetic bike, motorized treadmill, multi-gym, jogger, vibrator, twister, and massager meant for the physical fitness of students.

On the basis of overall participation and performance at National, Inter-university, Inter-group, Inter-collegiate, Regional, and cultural/educational/ social events, the Best sportsman “General Championship” of the year is selected by the college for boys as well as girls.

• The college library is well-stocked and easy to access for the student & faculty members. A digital library is also being introduced to further strengthen for the optimal benefits for the students. The Library has more than 16000 books costing more than 53 lacks. There is a separate reading room for students as well as for staff. All required books are available in the library. The Library is open from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. There is a book bank facility for first-year students.
• The library occupies more than 279 sq. m. area and includes a magazine section, reference Section, Staff reading hall, Book distribution section, etc.
• The goal of our library is to support the institution’s teaching and research while also giving students the most recent information on current events in science and society. The library has an extensive collection of books, periodicals, online e-resources, subscription e-journals, magazines, etc.

The college has sports facilities for all students. The College is providing excellent sports facilities for the students to participate in various sports activities. The College has a spacious playground for outdoor games and for Indoor games with the ground being modified for specific sports. The College conducts Sports Days and also encourages students to participate in Inter-Collegiate events. In addition to team games, individuals have excelled in College, Zonal, and University level sports events. With a firm belief that physical fitness leads to mental fitness, the College provides a first-class facility in play fields for various games for indoor games we have a facility for Table tennis, Carrom, Badminton, Chess, Wrestling, Powerlifting, Weight Lifting, and Bodybuilding. For Outdoors games the open ground is used for Cricket, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Baseball, Softball, and Athletics. For Outdoor Games the College has a 7 acres multipurpose playground where students are trained to play a variety of games. The athletes have the facility of a special 400 meters 8-lane standard grass running track. A cement court with an acrylic board is provided for playing basketball. There is provision for games like cricket, football, softball, baseball, basketball, volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, and hockey. The College is endowed with a well-equipped multipurpose indoor stadium. There is the provision of a separate wooden court meant exclusively for playing badminton.

The college has Computer lab is well equipped with higher configuration systems that allow students to download the required textbook; e-resources are also prepared to benefit students. Seminar Hall is equipped with multimedia facilities to use ICT tools. The institution conducts Seminars, Workshops, and Guest Lectures on the new developments in the core subjects for effective teaching and learning.

The Campus has Cafeteria With spacious seating arrangements, a well-maintained and centrally located canteen will surely be a regular drop-in point at the campus. Nourishing and wholesome food is provided at affordable rates. Various forms of refreshments, beverages, and a varied lunch menu surely help in stimulating the day on campus.

The College Canteen is located on the bank of Gomairiver with a large spacious area, with a view of greenery all around, and a variety of refreshments and meals available. It tends to be the most popular place on campus, not only for physical refreshment but also for student bonding, discussions, and even work on assignments and projects. The canteen is kept very clean and hygienic conditions are maintained.

The College is decorated with a multi-functional 800 seating capacity Mahatma Gandhi Hall which serves as a common platform for conducting workshops/ seminars/ talks/ guest lectures at all levels. The faculty and students can have access to regional, national, and international experts for academic discussions at hand.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.  Alumni of the college are in various key positions in Govt. sector, private sector as well as academia. This is a sign of a successful institute.

The college has Stocks and records of all laboratories are maintained by lab technicians under the supervision of a skilled team. Committee for Lab requirements, Purchase and Maintenance Store Purchase and Maintenance Committee, and Heads of the departments look after the functioning of the laboratories. Exhaust fans, fuming cupboards, and electrical connections are regularly checked. Gas connections, water taps, and drainage lines are routinely monitored. The leaking pipes and taps are repaired whenever required.

Laboratories and instruments are maintained clean by lab attendees. Lab technician checks the working condition of all instruments and maintains log books for every instrument to keep track of their usage and also to record any problem raised.

Small/major repair of the instruments is rectified by informing through proper channels. The animal house is maintained properly by the staff allotted to monitor, and feed the animals regularly, and check the working of the air conditioner.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
