48 MonthsBachelor of Arts Bachelor of Education (BA B.Ed) is a full-time four-year integrated course offered by the University of Mysore.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates seeking admission to the B.A.B.Ed. course should have passed the CBSE Senior Secondary examination/ Pre-University examination of Karnataka or an equivalent examination of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherryor the UT of Lakshadweep with 45% marks in the aggregate. Relaxation up to 5% of marks shall be given to the SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with the following combinations of subjects – English, Regional Language, and any two of the following subjects: History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, and Sociology.
- Admission shall be regulated through selection on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination or performance in a specially designed selection test or both as per the admission policies of NCERT from time to time. The selection test shall consist of Multiple Choice Questions with equal weightage to the three content areas of the combination of subjects at the CBSE/PUC/+2 level. Admission will be in accordance with administrative policies related to proportionate representation (based on the latest available census report) to different States in the region. It will also be governed by the reservation policies of Govt. of India as prevalent at the time of admission.
- Institutions other than RIE, Mysore offering the course follow admission rules of undergraduate courses of the University of Mysore.
Admission Details
(a) Admission shall be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the State Government/university/U.T. Administration. (b) At the time of admission to the program, the student will need to indicate their selection of the subjects to be pursued for the discipline options and the accompanying pedagogic specializations for which they are applying, and these may be assigned on the basis of the order of merit and availability.

The college campus is vast, spreading to around 120 acres. There is a diversity of flora and fauna, and ample space for budding of ecosystem. Playground and pathways are open for students. There are multiple hostel, college, and administrative buildings in the campus, including a school as well. Equipments of basic necessities are available in hostel and college, although not necessarily accessible 24/7. Campus is clean and hygienic. However, there is scope for improvement in the food provided.

College Infrastructure
Regional Institute of Education, Mysuru (RIEM) is a huge campus of 125 acres. Spacious labs and classroom, stunning nature especially on monsoon and winters. One of the largest libraries is also well equipped and maintained, a couple of gardens and love place to hang out with friends after classes. It's also rich in sports equipments. Also, this college has got a telescope observatory too which is really awesome and not found even in the famous colleges.
