The college infrastructure especially classrooms seems insufficient and less furnished. Hostel renovations needs to be paid attention towards. Needful appliances such as water heaters needs to be fitted as the solar heating system doesn’t meet its purpose during monsoons and winters.
The faculties are well trained and specialised in their respective fields. The classroom transaction are carried out in a good manner however the focus is more towards marks oriented learning rather than acquisition of knowledge. Hands on experience and scholarly research can be introduced.
Number of schools visiting for placements keeps dwindling. The packages offered to students are very meager compared to the workload. The committee needs to ensure minimum amount of package offered to the salary is fixed.
The college has good infrastructure facility. There is amble number of classrooms, labs for science subjects, computer labs, pedagogy labs. For the co curricular activities the campus has basketball court, volleyball, handball, football ground. There is also av hall and assembly hall where the cultural events take place.
while coming to academics since its a triple main course that is offered the content knowledge for core subjects will be less. The professors are all well qaulified, but many of the posts are vaccant so only very few professors are there.
the placements I would say is average. It used to be perment posting to kvs earlier but now the placements are restricted to the private schools alone. there are a lot of good private schools that come but the job security is not there.
The college campus is vast, spreading to around 120 acres. There is a diversity of flora and fauna, and ample space for budding of ecosystem. Playground and pathways are open for students. There are multiple hostel, college, and administrative buildings in the campus, including a school as well. Equipments of basic necessities are available in hostel and college, although not necessarily accessible 24/7. Campus is clean and hygienic. However, there is scope for improvement in the food provided.
I had studied the integrated course of B.A.B.Ed. for 4 years, and I'm satisfied with the teaching aids and techniques used in the college. Since the teaching quality is highly dependent on the teaching staff, I cannot rate the college over this. But, traditionally, the college has been following a curriculum which encourages the development of a student-teacher, and their participation in the educational sphere of the society. A lot of unnecessary workload, which acts as labour work, can be cut down by modernisation of certain educational practices.
Since a lot of students prefer to continue their education further, rather than applying for a job, it has not been very fruitful. But for the students who do sit in for the campus placements, which are conducted annually, approximately 60% people do land a satisfactory job, which is compatible in terms of salary, location, work load, and position. The college ensures a minimum salary of 30,000 to be offered to the graduates.
Being a central government college, the fee structure is affordable, and inclusive of a lot of facilities. College fee and hostel fee is to be paid separately. Towards the end of semester, exam fee is also required. During the period of internship, the cost is incurred by the students themselves. Certificate charges are to be paid by the student during the time of collection. Overall, the expenses aren't paid at once, but in intervals, which reduces the burden of payments.
The college has a beautiful aura and the spaciousness allows the students to roam around freely and organise different fests, cultural celebrations, programs and events, and even conduct various competitions which allow the students to bond between themselves, and explore their interests and strengths. Co-curricular activities are highly valued and encouraged in the campus. The hostel has a strict curfew at 20:00 for girls and 21:30 for boys. The locality is safe, and shops for all requirements are present in surroundings.
Regional Institute of Education, Mysuru (RIEM) is a huge campus of 125 acres. Spacious labs and classroom, stunning nature especially on monsoon and winters. One of the largest libraries is also well equipped and maintained, a couple of gardens and love place to hang out with friends after classes. It's also rich in sports equipments. Also, this college has got a telescope observatory too which is really awesome and not found even in the famous colleges.
A beautiful chain of neatly structured integrated courses. The Curriculum is on point and by the time we graduate, we'll be completely occupation-ready, mastered the stress level management, pedagogical Approaches and so on. If you're an aspiring teacher to become, well, this is what looks like ideal for people like you.
Placements in this college is outstanding! Every year major schools like Sainik schools, Army Schools, KVs and many private schools come to choose best of the teacher trainees from here. The environment in the campus while the placements are on going is really inspiring. For the entry level occupation, these placement offer somewhere around 5-7LPA which is really good.
People here are all around from India, which means, we'll get introduced to various cultures of their own and it's pretty great that we get an opportunity to understand the integration of culture and traditions whilst focusing on our performance here. It's so much fun just because of this campus life.
