Rewa Institute of Technology, Rewa Admission Process

Rewa Institute of Technology (RIT) is the technological institute based in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. It offers a complete bouquet of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering and management and computer applications. The admission process for RIT is such that all worthy candidates are selected on academic merit and as per other values prescribed by the institute. Admission at RIT usually correlates to the academic year which is initiated mostly around July or August. Although varied date specification is in place, it is ideal for prospective students to start thinking about preparing their applications as early as January or February in the year of enrollment.

RIT takes into account several considerations for eligibility to admission, such as performance record in qualifying examinations and in certain instances an entrance test marks. A person is qualified to apply for B.E./B.Tech undergraduate engineering programs having passed his 10+2 Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as major subjects.

Application Process

The application process of Rewa Institute of Technology typically involves some steps that ensure generally an even and all-round evaluation of candidates. Whereas there are variations as per programs, the general procedure generally involves the following:

1. Online Application: Candidates are required to fill out the respective form available through the official website of RIT. The form usually contains personal and academic history, and program options.

2. Document Submission: Applicants must submit their scanned copies of necessary documents, including, as a minimum:

  • Class 10th and 12th marksheets
  • Graduation marksheets (if applying for post graduation)
  • Current photo ID proof
  • Latest passport-size photographs
  • Place of residency certificates (if any)

4. Entrance Examination: Some programs may require relevant entrance examinations, the details of which differ for each course and has not been mentioned in the data available.

5. Preparation of the Merit List: The merit list for each program is prepared based on academics, marks obtained in entrance exams, if any, and other criteria set by the institute.

6. Counselling and Allotment of Seats: Shortlisted candidates are called for a counselling process where they can make their choice of the branch they want based on their rank and the available seats.

7. Document Verification: The selected candidates shall be required to furnish their original documents for verification at the time of admission.

8. Fee Payment: Successful candidates shall have to make the course fee payment in order to reserve a seat in the course after the verification has been done successfully.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.E./B.Tech: RIT runs several B.E. and B.Tech programs which include Computer Science and Engineering as well as Information Technology and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. Admission to all these programs is purely on the basis of academic merit vis-a-vis the candidates' performance in 10+2 and possibly in the relevant entrance examinations. The total intake varies across B.E./B.Tech programs, with Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, and Mechanical Engineering having 120 seats each while Electrical and Civil Engineering have 60 seats each.

MBA: The intake for the MBA program at RIT is 180 seats. The admission probably takes into consideration the academic background, work experience, if any, and performance during management aptitude tests, though specific data is not available on this.

MCA: The MCA program offered at RIT accommodates 60 seats. It is generally expected that admission is based on the candidate's bachelor's degree, preferably in a computer science-related field, along with relevant entrance test or interview.

M.Tech: RIT's M.Tech programs include Computer Science and Engineering (24), Digital Communication (18), and Thermal Engineering (18). Admissions into these at times may be governed by the B.E./B.Tech qualification of the applicant and in most cases, considering the GATE scores or entrance test taken by the institute separately.
