Sasi Creative School of Architecture, Coimbatore Admission Process

Set up with the Institute of the Ancient Teaching of Architecture by the Indian domination, Coimbatore, Sasi Creative School of Architecture (SCSA) is one of the oldest existing institutions for architectural education in the country. Founded in 2012, admission to this Institute under the purview of the Council of Architecture is through rigorous merit-based selection of the incoming architects. The admission schedule of SCSA mostly conforms to the academic session, which generally starts somewhere around August-September. The admission process at SCSA is mostly based on the merit of the candidate as assessed by the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Paper 2 with both these examinations being of national status testing aptitude and skills requisite for pursuing architecture.

For the purpose of being admitted here, a prospective student must possess a valid passing score of NATA or qualifying marks in JEE Main Paper 2. SCSA possesses a very strict and stringent merit list that selects only extremely talented and deserving candidates. Application procedures are followed throughout India, although approximately 95 percent of the student body comes from Tamil Nadu and about 5 percent comes from the neighboring states.

The application procedure for Sasi Creative School of Architecture, Coimbatore, consists of several steps:

4. Application Fee: Pay the level of application fees. Payment modes would be indicated in the application form.

5. Submission: Once the application form is duly filled, it should be submitted along with duly signed documents and application fees to the college admission office or as per other prescribed instructions.

6. Prepare a Merit List: SCSA will prepare the merit lists of candidates based on their performances in either NATA or JEE Main Paper 2.

7. Counseling: Counseling may be held for shortlisted candidates, wherein candidates shall choose their seats based on their rank in the merit list.

8. Admission Confirmation: Once seats have been allocated, the candidates need to confirm their admission by paying the fees and submitting original documents for verification.

9. Orientation: The candidate students are informed of the commencement date of classes and the orientation program.

It should be taken into account that the admission of students to SCSA is purely on merit without any management quota or capitation fees. The entire admission process is transparent and based on the performance of the candidates on their qualifying entrance examinations.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Arch: SCSA offers a 5-year full-time Bachelor of Architecture course, the primary degree offered by the institute. Admission to this degree program is based on the following:

  1. Eligibility: Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
  2. Entrance Exam: Applicants must have a valid NATA pass score or qualifying marks in JEE Main Paper 2.
  3. Merit-based Selection: The final selection is made purely on merit, considering the candidate's performance in the qualifying entrance exam.

According to SCSA, the B.Arch accepts an annual admitted intake of 80 students. The course aims to provide the students with a wide understanding and grounding in architectural theory, design processes, and practical skills necessary for the profession.
