Shubhdeep Ayurved Medical College and Hospital, Indore, is one of the well-known centers for Ayurvedic education and health care in Madhya Pradesh, with admission procedures, which are considered elaborate to select the most suitable candidates for the various programs offered in Ayurvedic medicine. The institution functions under the aegis of the Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM), an enhancer of surety that the admission procedures and academic standards of the institute are getting conformed to the requirements of this country.
The national-level entrance examinations are primarily considered when selecting students for admission to Shubhdeep Ayurved Medical College and Hospital. The scores of the NEET that is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test would be primarily considered for the undergraduate admission process. In a similar manner, NEET PG scores will count the most in selecting candidates for postgraduate courses. These national-level entrance examination ensure a fair selection and keeping the selection process standardized in all parts of the country.
Different academic programs have different eligibility criteria. For the undergraduate B.A.M.S program, students must have completed 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the compulsory subjects. For students of the general category, a minimum aggregate of 50% marks has to be scored in these subjects; however, relaxations are permissible according to the government norms for students of the SC/ST/OBC reserved category.
Application Process
The application process for Shubhdeep Ayurved Medical College and Hospital, Indore, consists of many stages.
1. NEET Qualification: The very first step for both BAMS and MD programs consists of qualifying the NEET examinations (NEET UG for BAMS and NEET PG for MD programs).
2. Online Application: Only after declaration of NEET results can qualified candidates apply online in a prescribed portal wherein the application form is to be filled with personal details, educational qualifications, and NEET score.

4. Application Fee Payment: Candidates have to pay their application fees in the prescribed way.
5. Counseling Process: Based on their NEET rank, candidates who are shortlisted will be called for counseling. During counseling, the candidate will select their preferred course and college according to their rank and availability of seats.
6. Seat Allotment: Seats will be allotted to candidates on the basis of the counseling process.
7. Fee Payment and Admission Confirmation: Candidates would have to make the necessary payment and submit the original documents for confirmation of admission after the allotment of the seat.
8. Medical Examination: Admitted candidates may have to appear for a medical examination to assess their fitness for admission into the program.
9. Orientation: The candidates whose admissions were successful will continue to the orientation program, which will promote their knowledge about the college, amenities, and the academic course timetable.
Degree wise Admission Process
BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery): For 100 seats approved in the BAMS program at Shubhdeep Ayurved Medical College and Hospital, the rules prescribe admission based on merit determined by NEET score. The admission process includes a counseling round in which students are assigned seats based on their rank choices against availability.
The MD programs: There are basically five MD programs, meaning each MD program has an intake of 5 seats:
1. MD Kayachikitsa
2. MD Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana
3. MD Ayurved Samhita and Siddhanta
4. MD Rognidan Evam Vikriti Vigyan
5. MD Panchakarma
Admission to the MD is conducted based on NEET PG scores. Thereafter, candidates who qualify through NEET PG are eligible for counseling and allotment of seats. Usually, selection to the courses is made on the merit of candidates in NEET PG ranking, choice, and availability of seats.
