Sivaji College of Engineering and Technology (SCET), Kanyakumari, offers a vast range of engineering and management courses. SCET follows a fair and step-by-step admission process according to the merit and equity policy. SCET is an Anna University-affiliated university and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to offer quality education and credibility to its courses.

The SCET admission process usually adheres to the Anna University academic calendar, with admissions normally opening in May-June for the August-September academic year. The college offers both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses with their individual sets of admission requirements and processes.

For UG engineering programs, SCET considers marks secured in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling process based on performance in the 12th standard board examination. The cutoff marks can vary each year depending upon the number of applicants and seats.

The UG eligibility criteria is 50% (45% for reserved categories) aggregate marks at 10+2 with Science, Mathematics, and Chemistry (Physics, Math or Biology and Math) as major subjects. For PG, the relative bachelor's degree with 50-55% aggregate (depending on the individual course requirements) is required.

Application Process

The application process for Sivaji College of Engineering and Technology varies for varying programs:

For B.E./B.Tech courses:

1. Register for TNEA counselling on the official TNEA website.

2. Fill in the application form and pay the application fee.

3. Upload necessary documents, including 10th and 12th mark sheets, community certificate (if obligatory), and other pertinent certificates.

For M.E. courses:

5. Fill admission formalities at SCET if selected.

For MBA course:

1. Register and take TANCET exam.

2. Apply through the Anna University website for MBA admission.

3. Fill in application form and pay fee.

4. Upload supporting documents, i.e., graduation mark sheets, TANCET score card, etc.

5. Attend Group Discussion and Personal Interview if shortlisted.

6. Finalize admission at SCET if selected.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.E./B.Tech: SCET offers six bachelor's degree engineering courses like Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Admission is to these courses through the TNEA counselling process. The admission of every course is 60 seats except Mechanical and Electrical & Electronics Engineering with 30 seats each.

M.E.: The college provides two M.E. courses - Construction Engineering and Management, and Computer Science and Engineering. Both the courses have 18 seats. Admissions are usually on the basis of GATE scores or a college entrance test, followed by counselling. The candidates must possess a relevant B.E./B.Tech degree to be eligible.

MBA: SCET offers an MBA course with 60 seats. The course is admitted primarily based on TANCET scores. Shortlisted candidates may be required to undergo a Group Discussion and Personal Interview as part of the selection process. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in a bachelor's degree in any discipline is usually required for eligibility.
