Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing (SNCN), Bangalore is one of the top nursing colleges in Karnataka. This College is Accredited Institute by NAAC and Approved by Indian Nursing Council (INC). It conducts undergraduate and postgraduate nursing courses. The admission process in SNCN is structured in a way to identify students who are completely devoted to becoming professional nurses. For undergraduate courses, the minimum basic eligibility criterion is the successful completion of 10+2 from a recognized board.
The postgraduate applicants must have completed their bachelor's degree in nursing from a recognized university. The college may admit on qualifying examinations and may also hold its own entrance test or interviews separately.SNCN has an open student mix, with 95% students coming from outside the state and thus creating a very rich academic environment. It is also gender balanced, with nearly 60% male students and 40% female students. The college, in this way, promotes gender mix in nursing professions.

Degree wise Admission Process
B.Sc Nursing: SNCN offers a 4-year B.Sc Nursing program with an intake capacity of 60 students. Admission is based on the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination (10+2) and possibly an entrance test conducted by the college. The program focuses on providing comprehensive nursing education and practical training.
Post Basic BSc Nursing The duration of this 2-year course is taken by 25 students. This programme is designed for registered nurses so that they can better upgrade their qualification. Candidates should have a diploma in nursing with suitable work experience. Admission may require entrance testing and interview.
M.Sc Nursing: SNCN offers five specializations in M.Sc Nursing with an intake of 5 students in each. These specializations are Medical Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, and Community Health Nursing. Admission for these 2 years programs is granted based on the candidate's B.Sc Nursing degree performance, along with entrance tests and interviews, if any.
