    The experience was great altogether.

    College Infrastructure

Good infrastructure with new building. Big classrooms with separate library and gym in the college building. The new campus is on the main road makes it easier for transportation. The new campus also has parking space for the students where they can park their bikes

    Academics

Good academics. This college comes under top three law colleges in west Bengal. The professors are of very high caliber. Some professors are also practicing advocates or have practiced before joining teaching. They also provide moot court facilities for the students.

    Placements

This college does not provide any placements. But the students graduating from here are of high caliber and 95% of them usually move to practicing as lawyer. Now i have heard that students doing LLM from the college can become assistant professor for his college itself.

    Value for Money

It is a value for money. Maybe the fees have increased a bit now. But as per my calculation, I studied here for 5 years and my whole 5 years expense was not more than 80k. This college also provide various kinds of scholarships and helps to the students in need.

    Campus Life

The campus is average. Campus is small. Classes timing is from morning 6:30 to 10:30 and so not much of a campus life.

    Excellent, Fantastic and joyful.

    College Infrastructure

It is one of the four government colleges under calcutta university. It is very pleasant to look at situated beside the roadside. Office building is well managed and overall cleanliness is maintained.

    Academics

Classes are conducted regularly, teachers are very helpful. Active participation of each student is mandatory in college events and outside college participation is also expected.overall the acedemics are excellent.

    Placements

Good placement. As a law college companies do not actively visit the campus but we do get placed under senior lawyers but in campus placement do not occur. You can always apply to different firms anywhere.

    Others

    Would highly recommend.

College life is decent and unproblematic. I recommend.

    College Infrastructure

The necessary infrastructure and facilities are present. Recently a moot court society is found too. The classrooms are big and airy and are cleaned regularly. A library with a huge collection of law books helps us a lot. However, we do not have a canteen yet but chances of getting one soon is probable.

    Academics

I am studying B.A.L.L.B as I have always wanted to become a lawyer. The professors are highly qualified and dedicated to help their students. The subjects are relevant and updated and includes all the recent developments.

    Placements

There is no presence of a particular placement cell, so students have to put on more effort by themselves to find internships and job prospects. However, the final semesters require students to visit the court regularly so it is not unachievable.

    Value for Money

The admission fee for the year I got admitted (2018) was nearly Rs.23,000. This is a five year course and each fee for each sem is Rs. 6160(all inclusive). This is a government funded college and I get my money's worth because of the wonderfully experienced and qualified professors.

    Campus Life

The campus is relatively smaller than other colleges because of it's easily accessible location. All the seniors, professors and administrative staff are amicable and strictly promote an anti- ragging environment.

    Good College

    College Infrastructure

The college has a separate building at 57, KN Sen Lane, New Ballygunge, Kolkata. It has a library, moot court room, seminar room. The library is updated and the college administration is trying to make it better. All classrooms are well maintained and equipped. As most of the students are local, the college doesn’t have a hostel. Outstation students have to stay in personal apartments or paying guests.

    Academics

I am currently pursuing B.A.LL.B which is a 5 year integrated course. As my college is affiliated to University of Calcutta, admission is merit based. Aspirants have to take the entrance test. My interest in law persuaded me to take this course. The quality of teaching is very good and knowledgeable. They are always ready to interact with students even after classes and clear their doubts. The curriculum is updated. The college is also trying to get all recent developments of the field.

    Placements

As of now the college has not got it’s placement cell. Students have to look for internships and jobs themselves. But the college administration doesn’t cause hinderance in interning after college hours.

    Value for Money

The course cost per year is approximately ₹ 7000/-. I think in this amount students are getting enough.

    Campus Life

The campus life is pretty ok. Students engage in moot court society, debate society, and various sport activities. Students also take part in inter and intra college activities.Students, Teachers and support staff are very helpful. College is situated in the southern part of Kolkata city which is itself the best thing. The city offers good opportunities to aspiring lawyers. It is safe and can handle emergencies.

    Others

South Calcutta Law College is overall a good college. Students who are thinking of taking judiciary, Civil services and academics are career options can definitely join in as they will get good teachers in here and also ample time to study.

    College Infrastructure

South Calcutta Law College is one of the oldest law colleges of India. The library has a wide collection of books and magazines along with computers with internet facilities. There are printing and xerox facilities available as well for the college students. Sports room is equipped with indoor sports like carom, table tennis etc. Facility of digital presentation is available in each class as each class has a separate projector along with regular white marker boards. Moots are done regularly.

    Academics

The academics of South Calcutta Law College is undoubtedly the best. We have some of the renowned law professors who devote their time and effort not only inside the class but out of class too through WhatsApp and Emails. B.A. LL.B (Hons.) syllabus of University of Calcutta is designed to make a student eligible to compete successfully with students from national and international law graduates in future. The wide collection available in the library is surely icing on the cake.

    Placements

The college doesn't have a placement cell of its own. But we have a strong Alumni network throughout the world. Former Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir is an alumni of SCLC. We get notified about available government and private internships and the students can apply to them of their own. The teachers help with writing CVs, resumes etc.

    Value for Money

It's a government law college so the cost is minimal. Including all charges the cost is around 6000 INR per year.

    Campus Life

SCLC has a wide choice of events throughout the year. Fests, competitions and a lot more. The college hours are flexible (From 6:30 AM-10:30 AM) so after college there are a lot of things to do. Our college participates in inter college fests too. Annual sports meet and weekly intra college moot court competitions are there as well.

    Others

South Calcutta Law College is overall one of the best colleges to enhance your knowledge at minimal fees. Comparing to the lacs that NLU students count every year, SCLC has never failed to deliver quality knowledge to its students which helps to shine them in future.
