Sree Krishna College of Education, Tumkur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College library is the heart of the college or organization. The library plays a vital role in the development of the students as well as the faculty. It is the place of knowledge, open for Teacher educators and Student-teachers. Library-building knowledge supports teaching and learning and also provides better service to its users. Sree Krishna College of Education established its library open in the academic year 2004-05 for students as well as for faculty members.

At present, the library is well equipped, furnished, and spacious enough to accommodate 50 students at a time presently large volumes including Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Gazetteers, and Yearbooks. 100 Journals Back Volumes and  50 CDs, DVDs, and Video Cassettes then subscribe to more than 5 Educational Journals 12 Magazines, and 06  Kannada and English Daily News Papers.

The college For the development of the holistic personality of students, a well-balanced curriculum is ensured by the institution. A variety of sports, yoga, and recreational activities form an integral part of it. The college has sufficient sports infrastructure for outdoor games (Athletics, Basketball, Volleyball, and Kho-Kho), indoor games (Badminton, Yoga, Table-Tenis), Gymnasium hall (Fitness Apparatus, Yoga mats, and Recreational activities – Carom, Chess, Dat Board, Multipurpose Cones, etc.) which are quite interesting and student-friendly. The policy of college promotes sports-related days, functions, and programs.

To promote sports participation, the college regularly prepares sports teams to participate in competitions at various levels. The college ensures the appointment of specialized coaches to train the college teams, entry and match fees, sports kits, sports diet, medical bills, attendance during competitions, etc. Yoga and sports camps are being conducted on college campuses wherein students democratically participate in a variety of physical exercises along with attending meditation sessions. These activities develop not only their physical well-being but also take care of their mental, social, emotional, and spiritual health. The physical Education teacher in charge is the mentor of these activities.

The college has well equipped science room. The Science Lab serves as a hands-on laboratory where inquisitive minds and science enthusiasts can explore the various domains and dimensions of the scientific world to observe, experiment, and analyze through discovery based teaching and learning. The lab encompasses a large collection of scientific apparatus, equipment, chemicals, and educational aids to develop scientific temper and critical thinking in students. Apparatus are issued to the students for their demonstration lessons and skill in teaching examinations.

The institution has a computer laboratory with a Wi-fi Internet facility for data entry and analysis; document generation, research publications; internet access, and information sharing. M.Ed students use SPSS software for their data analysis required for research work. Teachers make use of ICT facilities for curriculum transactions and for research purposes. Students are also allowed to use a computer/ ICT lab for their project work and to explore knowledge beyond the curriculum. The college has well equipped ET/ Curriculum lab which serves as a safe place for a large number of cameras, OHPs, LCD projectors, smart boards, laptops, maps, globes, instructional materials, mike systems, TV, audio tapes, video clips, slides, scanner, projection screen, display board, music system, slide projector, speakers, printers, stopwatch, etc. as part of latest teaching aids for students. CCTV cameras are installed in all the rooms and all spaces in and around the campus facility. While in some classes smart boards are installed, in others OHPs are set up to facilitate the teaching-learning process optimally. Teachers carry with them their laptops in the classes as supplement devices. The college is a complete Wi-Fi zone supporting the techno-savvy environment for the better functioning of the institute. It makes both the teachers and students engage in modern educational technology curricula and pedagogy.

The college has a girls' hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.
