Srinivasa Subbaraya Polytechnic College is a well-known technical institute started in the year 1960 in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) today provides numerous diploma courses in different fields of engineering. Located on a vast area of 59.3 acres, the college has a total intake capacity of 1423 students and faculty strength of 33. Srinivasa Subbaraya Polytechnic College offers five full-time diploma courses fortified with qualitative education for the candidates based on their interest in technical courses in the region.

The college also boasts the necessary and appropriate facilities that enable student’s growth in terms of classwork and character development. Its core academic component is the library with 15000 books, as well as monthly and weekly technical magazines and World Bank publications. It thus provides educational video cassettes to improve the learning processes in the facility. Practical experiences are also provided by the college through laboratories for each department of the college. The IT facilities are well developed to enable students to be familiar with modern technological development. The college has the facility of a very big stadium that hosts many games each year and fans can always attend the competitions. This college also has different hostels for boys and girls with the capacity to contain 230 students each and has proposed adding more rooms with a capacity of 50 each.

Srinivasa Subbaraya Polytechnic College conducts five full-time diploma courses, out of which all of them are only regular courses. Total student intake of the college in all courses stands amazingly at 1,423 as evident from the following table. Unfortunately, data for the current year graduates is missing; however, the quality of education offered by the college implies a high success rate of students. Diploma courses are presented as academic courses that are aimed at the achievement of vital educational goals and professional success.

Like all the institutions of higher learning, Srinivasa Subbaraya Polytechnic College has a very simple admission requirement whereby the candidates are admitted based on their performance. The admissions for the three-year full-time diploma courses are offered exclusively on a merit basis by taking the marks obtained by the students in the SSLC (10th standard) examination followed by the norms of the Tamil Nadu Government reservation policy. This way we make sure that all the applicants are selected in a fair way that is fully transparent.
