Thandra Paparaya Institute of Science and Technology (TPIST) at Vizianagaram is an institution committed to the pursuit of excellence in engineering and technology education. Students are admitted based on a fair admission procedure executed following the prescribed norms to select the best out of the lot for different engineering programs. Normally, TPIST admission is in accordance with the academic calendar. Admission generally starts in May-June for the academic year beginning in August-September. The predominant method of admission for all B.Tech programs in TPIST is through AP EAMCET(A.P. Engineering-Agriculture and Medical common entrance test). This is a state-level entrance examination which every aspiring engineering student in Andhra Pradesh is supposed to take.
The eligibility criteria for admission into the B.Tech program at TPIST include passing 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board. Although specific subjects have not been mentioned, it is generally expected that Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics were studied. By choosing students with a solid foundation in these core subjects, the institute expects them to be able to cope with the rigorous engineering curriculum. The main entrance exam for admission to TPIST, AP EAMCET, tests the knowledge of students in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. The exam pattern and syllabus are framed so as to test the conceptual understanding and problem-solving abilities of the candidates in all these subjects.
