Kongu Polytechnic College Salem, Tamil Nadu, India, and today, it ranks as one of the best technical institutes in India. Degree wise Admission Process

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: This is the largest program at the college, having an approved intake of 150 students. Therefore, it is quite probable that consideration in admission will factor in performance in mathematics and science subjects from the 10th.

Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering: This second-largest program offered at the college has an approved intake of 120 students. Hence, the admission criteria would definitely include performance in physics and mathematics at the 10th grade prior to joining the program.

Diploma in Automobile Engineering: Here, the college has a maximum intake of 60 students for the program. The better students who qualify with physics and mathematics may have an upper hand in obtaining admission.

Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering: 60 students are being admitted through this program. One would assume that such admission would be based upon the candidates' proficiency in physics and mathematics.

Diploma in Computer Engineering: Having topped at 60 seats, performance in mathematics and computer science (if studied at the 10th standard) may be considered for admission into the program.

Diploma in Civil Engineering: This has the least intake with only 30 students taking admission into the program. Admission criteria would include performance in mathematics and science subjects, with possibly special consideration of physics.
