University law college is a part of Utkal University located in Bhubaneswar. It's is one of the prestigious law college of Odisha and also has developed to a good level in last few years . The college has established academic block and separate administrative block . Recently a new library and a moot court hall has been inaugurated by Honorable Chief justice of Odisha Justice Subhasis Talapatra . The administration has been very good and staffs and other faculties are very supportive.
Currently i am studying LLB Hons and I got the seat by qualifying the entrance exam. And the quality of teaching is good and flexible. The curriculum is been updated and teachers also do talk about recent developments in the field of law .
The college give good internship opportunities in state level institution such as high court, commissionerate, state human rights council, women council etc . Also many students got OJS services after qualifying the exam .
The college is very cheap , it cost me ₹7250 , as this is a govt funded college. The college is absolutely worth the money . Moot court fees and form fillup fees are extra .
Campus Life is very good and awesome , you will get plenty of peer groups.
Very good and positive Atmosphere.
Although University Law College is a separate college/department of Law for Utkal University, having both graduate and postgraduate studies, it still is comparatively small and also is outside the Utkal University main campus. Though the development is going on, it will take time in order to achieve its zenith.
Academics are perhaps the best part? You get some of the best teachers and the course in here can prepare you easily for Judicial Examinations and some for some papers of Civil Services Examinations if you're that much concentrated and studious.
Most of the students who pass out either get a license to practice law, get appointed as judges or civil servants in either state or centre. Many go for Post Graduation and thereafter towards PhD and all.
The course fees for BALLB Hons for the year of 2020 is 45,000 INR per year as it is a state run college but the course is a self financing one. Although there are only 60 seats the BALLB Hons and the applicants at the time of applying for entrance are somewhere around 2000 students.
Hello, Bappaditya Roy
It's a big no. Bar Council of India has already made it clear that the licence will not be issued for those persons who have done LL-B through distance education system and as such you cant become a lawyer so the degree is useless. But, Yes you can do various diploma and few degree courses through the distance mode offered in various specializations like MBL, Human Rights, IPR etc by many colleges.
