Students with PCM i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics background can also go for it however, students with PCB are given more priority.
For M.Sc. or M.Tech in Microbiology and Immunology, a candidate must have passed their B.Sc or B.Tech in Microbiology and Immunology or any other relevant field with a minimum of 65% marks overall.
For PhD in Microbiology and Immunology, a candidate must have passed their M.Sc or M.Tech in Microbiology and Immunology or any other relevant field with a minimum of 70% marks overall.
To pursue a diploma degree in Microbiology and Immunology, any candidate with PCB background can go for it after completing 10+2.
To pursue the course of Microbiology and Immunology Engineering, you’ll have to either do B.Sc or B.Tech. in Microbiology and Immunology, followed by M.Sc / M.Tech. and PhD. Some of the entrance exams to look out for are:
i) JEE Main and JEE Advanced
JEE Main can be given by all 10+2 passing students and qualifying this exam will earn you a spot in some top NITs and government institutes across the country. JEE Advanced is given by candidates who qualified JEE Main and qualifying this exam will earn you a spot in top IITs and NITs across the country.
ii) GATE
GATE exam will help you earn a spot in a top institute across the country for your master’s degree.
iii) NET
National Eligibility Test will earn you a spot in a top institute across the country for your PhD degree.
iv) DUET
DUET is organized by Delhi University every year and qualifying this exam will help you get a seat in Delhi University or any other college under Delhi University.
v) NEET
Qualifying NEET will help you get a seat in a top medical college across the whole country. Colleges like JIPMER selects students based on their NEET scorecard.
Both of these exams are organized by Anna University. TANCET is organized for bachelor degree students so that they can qualify and get a seat for their master’s degree. TNEA is organized for 10+2 passing students so that they can qualify and get a seat for their UG course under Anna University or any other university that comes under it.
