Eternal University Baru Sahib was established under the Himachal Pradesh Private University Act 2006 and the Himachal Pradesh Government Act No. 3 of 2009. EU Sirmour offers a postgraduate programme Master of Public Administration. Eternal University Sirmour has been accredited by the NAAC and ISO certified. EU Sirmour courses are approved by the UGC, NCTE, DSIR, AICTE, INC, and DBT.

The Eternal University's seven constituent colleges are Akal College of Arts and Social Sciences, Akal College of Agriculture, Akal College of Engineering and Technology, Akal College of Basic Sciences, Akal College of Health and Allied Sciences, Akal College of Education, and Akal College of Economics, Commerce, and Management. EU Sirmour offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in various disciplines such as B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc, BA MA, B.Ed., M.Ed., BBA, MBA and Ph.D.  These courses are offered through the affiliated colleges. At this Eternal University offers MPH at PG level.

Candidates must meet EU Sirmour eligibility criteria for each course, which vary depending on the academic qualifications, entrance exams and other requirements.
