As far as undergraduate degree course of ISI is concerned, they are only 2 courses they are B.STAT &B.MATH.both requires 10+2 degree in relevant discipline from a recognised board.
You have to go through entrance exam which is objective and subjective both but subjective one is checked only if you qualify in objective.the level of exam is tougher than JEE advanced. Objective paper consists of 30 mcq's with 120 marks.
ISI is the dream college of Math Lovers and if you want to make your career in statistics, data science and other fields involving math, ISI will make your dream come true.
If you pass your 12th grade in 2013 with low score in the board exams and then opt for improvement exams in 2014, your passing year will still be considered as 2013.The improvement exams are typically conducted for students who want to enhance their scores or grades in specific subjects after their initial board exams. However, regardless of when you take the improvement exams, your passing year remains the same as the year you initially completed your 12th grade, which in this case is 2013.
Hello Vikash,
Unfortunately, with a 12th commerce background and 61%, it may be difficult to get admission to the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) , as ISI primarily focuses on mathematics, statistics, and related fields, requiring strong mathematical skills.
The eligibility criteria for most undergraduate programs at ISI require students to have a background in Mathematics at the 10+2 level (especially for courses like B.Stat or B.Math). Since commerce students typically do not have an extensive math curriculum, meeting the specific math requirements might be an issue.
However, if you're interested in ISI's programs and have math knowledge from your commerce studies, you can still consider strengthening your math skills and preparing for their entrance exams, which are quite rigorous.
For exact eligibility details, it's best to check ISI's official website.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.
Hy,
To secure a rank under 100 in the ISI Admission Test for the B.Math or B.Stat program, you typically need a high score, as the competition is intense. While the exact marks required can fluctuate depending on the difficulty level of the exam in a given year, scoring around 70% or higher is usually necessary to rank under 100.
However, achieving this can be challenging because the ISI Admission Test consists of two parts:
Both parts assess strong mathematical problem-solving abilities, and since the total number of candidates is large but the intake is limited, a high percentile is required.
The cutoff scores for admission and ranks vary, so to achieve a rank under 100, strong preparation across all topics, such as algebra, calculus, geometry, and combinatorics, is essential.
Hy,
Yes, if you are interested in applying to different Indian Statistical Institutes (ISIs) or their various programs, you typically need to register separately for each exam or program. Here’s a general overview of how the process works:
Hi there,
Hope you are doing fine.
For admission to the B.Stat program at ISI Kolkata the domicile certificate requirements are generally specific and may not accommodate students from other states seeking to claim domicile status in West Bengal. ISI Kolkata primarily focuses on academic merit for admissions rather than domicile status.
Generally domicile certificates are used for state based reservations or benefits in local universities and colleges but ISI Kolkata admission process for the B.Stat program primarily considers entrance exam performance and academic qualifications rather than domicile status.
If you are applying to ISI Kolkata from Rajasthan but your hometown is West Bengal, you would generally need to meet the general admission criteria, which includes performing well in the ISI admission test and possibly an interview. You can check the more precise details by visiting the official website of the college website.
Hope this resolves your query.
Hi there,
Hope you are doing fine.
To obtain a comprehensive collection of past year question papers for the ISI and CMI entrance exams you can find it by checking the official websites of both institutions, as they sometimes provide past papers or sample questions in their admissions sections.
Additionally you can explore the online forums and communities related to these exams that can be helpful as the students often share resources and discuss past questions. You can also visit coaching institutes specializing in preparation for these exams as they might also have a repository of PYQs that they provide to their students.
Also, educational websites and blogs dedicated to ISI and CMI entrance exams can be valuable sources for downloadable papers.
Hope this resolves your query.
