dear student,

You are required to clear two papers.

You will have only maths questions in the first paper. The sample questions given on the institutes’s website are actually a very good 'sample', you will have very similar questions in the exam. I do not know of any other good resource where you will find similar questions. I searched for one when I was preparing for the exam but failed to find any. I agree that the questions are tough but then they will be tough for everyone, and so, you can expect the cut-off to be very low.

The second paper's preparation would depend on your academic background. Again here, there will be some maths questions which are compulsory and then you can choose to answer questions from one of the Maths, Statistics, Physics, CS, Electronics sections of the paper. In my opinion, for this last section, you can prepare using the GATE material for the corresponding paper. The biggest difference here is that the questions will be subjective-type unlike GATE.

EDIT : There is a book called "Test of Mathematics at the Ten Plus Two level". Many people call it the TOMATO. It contains maths problems that can help you to prepare for the MMA paper.  Its a book published by the Indian Statistical Institute and is available on flipkart.

Hope this helps!!

Hey . .

The dates isn't clear yet .

Thanks

The college offers 5 courses. Bachelor's Hons in statistics, post graduate diploma in business analytics, ms in computer science, mtech in quantitative economics and mtech in quality, reliability and operations research. The entrance test conducted by the college is ISI entrance test. The eligibility for the test depends on the courses. The entrance test is conducted all over India and the candidates qualifying the exam are offered admission.

Yes Ashish,

You are. The official website says that anyone with your undergraduate degree may apply. Please also make sure to apply to other reputed institutes too, to make sure you have  a backup, though.

It depends on what degree you pass out with!

With a Ph.D. you can get academic positions in good universities and institutions around the world.

With M.Stat / M.Math/ MS (QE) you can get into good doctoral programmes in India or abroad or join corporates/ research organisations as analytics specialist, economist etc.

After B.Stat/ B.Math one can join graduate programmes in Stat/ Math/ Economics abroad or MBA programme in IIMs. Very few people leave ISI after B.Stat/ B.Math though.

After M.Tech (CS) or M.Tech (QROR) most people join industry as specialists in their fields though the possibility of getting into doctoral programmes in India or abroad is very good.

there is no such information regarding the isi result. but i am providing ou th elink where you can easily check your result. so all the best i am providing the link below. all the best.

Hi Abshar Khan,

  • Few points to consider -
  • One has to have a graduate degree to be able to sit for the exam, there is no cut off as such.
  • Anyone who passes ISI entrance exam and interview do show his/ her knowledge and comfortability with the subject.
  • In case of low scores in graduation, they might ask you a reason for the same during the interview but I don’t think it’s gonna affect your selection chance in any way.
  • Therefore, just try to do well in exam and interview and don't worry too much about this aspect.

All the best.

Hai.

Cut off will be around 67/120(UGA) and 30/80(UGB). This cut off was for General students. ForOBC and SC/ST, the cut off was 10% and 20% lesser respectively.

Thank you

Hello Rishabh,

Yes 12 th percentage does matter while taking admission in ISI, Its not only ISI but most colleges which expect 12th scores to be good. Entrance scores are no doubt important but it is also the percentage which join with the scores to make percentile.

All the best

Ihope this helped
