Sardar Bhagwan Singh University, Dehradun Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The University hostel hosts more than 275 boys in “Banda Bahadur Boys Hostel” respectively. The Hostel buildings, infrastructure, and surroundings are of their own class. The hostels comprise 285 and 140 elegantly well-furnished AC/Non-Ac rooms in both the boy's hostels respectively. The hostels have hygienic mess facilities, well-furnished reading rooms (provided with the latest magazines and newspapers), A.C. recreation rooms with home theatre, and indoor sports infrastructure.

The University hostel hosts more than 600 girls in the “Mata Gujri Girls Hostel” and respectively. The Hostel buildings, infrastructure, and surroundings are of their own class. The hostels comprise 285 and 140 elegantly well-furnished AC/Non-Ac rooms in girls' hostels respectively. Both hostels have hygienic mess facilities, well-furnished reading rooms (with the latest magazines and newspapers), and A.C. recreation rooms with home theatre and indoor sports infrastructure.

The University academic excellence of the students and for the treatment of needy persons the Institute runs the Physiotherapy Out-Patients Department and Pathology Research Centre “Prayas” in Dehradun city at 41, East Canal Road; Bala Preetam Health Centre, Patel Nagar; Sports College, Raipur; Early Intervention Centre at Cheshire Home, 16, Pritam Road, Dehradun and OPD in Academic Campus of SBSPGI-Balawala, Dehradun. The Institute also arranges free medical health camps in different locations in and around Dehradun. The OPDs have an average turnout of 250-300 patients giving the students hands-on experience in the treatment of patients.

The college has a Gym facility for the students. Well-equipped gymnasium with Instructor.

The university's newly renovated and fully air-conditioned library with a floor area of over 5000 sq. ft. functions with an "Open Access System" and is well equipped and organized into various sections manned by well-qualified library professionals and highly experienced staff. The Library is enriched with an adequate number of Text Books, Reference Books, and Periodicals totaling over 27,000 books. Besides, 21 selected current National and International Periodicals including Research Journals covering areas of Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Products, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Physiotherapy, Medical Sciences, and other Allied Health Sciences are subscribed regularly. The Library has an outstanding reading room with a seating capacity of more than 200 students. The Library is fully computerized and supported by the LIBMAN software package. The Institute also has a departmental library The book bank comprising 6500 textbooks has been created as part of a library for the benefit of students. y in the Physiotherapy Department.

The University Facilities for a large variety of games and sports are available in the Institute and even more, are under development. All facilities, including professionally qualified sports coaches and modern amenities catering to various sports and games, are provided to students. the college has sports fields on both campuses for Cricket, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Hockey, Baseball, and Badminton, besides these facilities for Indoor Games like Table Tennis, Chess, Carom, and Gymnasium are available in Hostels.

The College is committed to providing the best facilities to support academic performance in this web age. For this, an artistically and ergonomically designed state-of-the-art Internet cafe with a dedicated 2Mbps high-speed lease line has been built, where you can search for information about your research work and stay in touch with your friends in an air-conditioned environment. Internet and other facilities are provided to you at highly subsidized rates. Free Wi-fi is available in the Library and Hostel areas. There is a Computer Laboratory where you can develop your skills according to global needs and international standards. A specially trained faculty looks after the Computer Lab. The Institute lays strong emphasis on the usage of computer education in the curricular program. The Computer Lab is equipped with the latest software available.

The campus has a separate cafeteria with a seating capacity of around 200 students at a time, with a well-maintained lawn on one side and a beautiful Shivalik Hill view on the backdrop. The cafeteria serves pure vegetarian Indian and Chinese food. Hygienically cooked and reasonably priced snacks are also served. The cafeteria is open during college hours only i.e.: from 9 A.M. to 4.30 P.M., An open area is available for the students to come together and enjoy academic and general conversations.

The Institute provides its own bus facility to facilitate staff and students commuters.

The University Alumni office facilitates interaction between Alumni and the Institute and strengthens the Alumni network within the country & abroad. Further an Annual Alumni Meet is organized on Campus. The alumni meetings are held every two years in various zones of India, where they share their nostalgic feelings and rich experience of life with the present and past students.

The College Free Wi-fi is available in the Library and Hostel areas.

The college has a departmental-based laboratories facility for the students.

The College Keeping in mind the daily needs of the students, the Institute provides items of daily needs such as stationery, Medicines, Grocery Items, Xerox, and Bakery products within the campus.

The University Oriental Bank of Commerce has an extension counter window at the Institute located in the Administrative Block giving easy access to the college students and the staff to withdraw and deposit cash. The bank is functional from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and is open on all working days. ATM also lies within the campus premises.

The University residential campus is a scene of rapid construction and civil works toward providing residential accommodation to the faculty. Fifteen (15) spacious and well-ventilated flats have already been allotted to the faculty. The aim is to provide accommodation to each faculty and staff member of the Institute in the near future. Tastefully furnished guest rooms and suites are available for examiners, parents, and other guests.

The University supports various societies with the primary aim to direct the dynamism of students in constructive directions to produce an integrated personality through assimilation of the culture, literature, art, music, dance arena and sports activities, and photographic acumen, in addition to community services. The University societies offer a diversified range of extracurricular activities, meeting a variety of student interests. Each Club/Society is constituted by a Convener, a Treasurer, a Student Secretary, and student members.
