Hello aspirant,

Academy of Technology has separate hostels for boys and girls. The girls hostel capacity of 130 capacity and Boys Hostel capacity is for 250 students. The hostel fees is 2,000 per month excluding mess fees. Also a hostel admission fees is to be paid including refundable security deposit amounting to 30,000.

None of the private engineering colleges in Kolkata or for that matter in West Bengal are fit for any kind of technical education. Barring JU (Jadavpur University), no college under WBJEE will give you the kind of education and Infrastructure that you are currently expecting. This is the hard reality of education in West Bengal. No college is up to the mark. And to top it all, they are all affiliated to MAKAUT ( Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology).

In case you are opting for CSE or IT, I would suggest these three colleges ranked considering placements since last few years -

Institute of Engineering and Management ( IEM).

Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT).

Techno India Salt Lake ( TISL).

But it needs good rank,about 7000 . Below which you can opt either AOT or NSEC which one is closer to your home.

No Parnab it is not mandatory for you to take part in JOSAA counselling if you want colleges other than NITs, IIITs or GFTIs. A candidate willing to get a seat in NITs or IIITs and have cleared JEE Mains are eligible for JoSAA counselling. You can go for West Bengal JEE counselling.
