College is spread out on huge acres of land and has multiple buildings, yet lacks life.... There are spacious classrooms to study, but they are frightening under the eyes of strict and rude professors.
The college concentrates on academics and tries to make it your sole purpose of living. There is literally nothing to do other than attending classes and studying. So it's heaven for all the ones who are really really serious about academics. But they eventually realise their mistake.
Mid and average. Rude TPO and her assistants. No good companies in our year. They make talk claims, don't believe them. Try to check through with someone who is present in college before believing fabricated data in hoardings and advertisements.
If you can manage and mingle and are brave enough to break rules. You can have it.
Big spacious classrooms. Well equipped laboratories. Library is filled with ebooks and course refferals. College is surrounded with pond in between. Basketball, football, cricket fields are present in college.
Study environment is very good. Professors are highly qualified. College is under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of technology. Syllabus is completed within the course of time. Professors are very friendly.
After completion of the course, companies come and take interviews for placements. Campus interviews and pre placement talks happen within the college. Though we don't get such good companies like Accenture and all, it's fine.
The infrastructure of our college is really very good. There are different blocks for different department. College also has many computer labs in the D block and have separate period for the lab classes. With addition to this there is a football ground and also a basketball court.
I feel in todays market computer science course has a great value so i chose this course. And talking about the teaching quality, our professors are all well trained and they have a great knowledge about the subject. We have good subjects that are useful in the future.
From the past two years i have seen a good placement provided by our college. The placement percent was nearly 140% in the last two years. A single student got placed in more than one company. TCS and Congnizant are the mass recruiters.
According to me college is value for money because all other colleges has a high fees than our college. The average semester fees is 42000 rupees. And an additional fees of rupees 12000 is also needed to be paid every year.
Firstly our college has a beautiful ambiance. There are many students chapter which conduct different events in the college. The senior of our college are also very helpful. And ragging is strictly prohibited.
I would say our college is good private engineering college in West Bengal, when fees is compared. I would recommend my juniors to check this college.
Classrooms are big and spacious . Laboratories are fully equipped and functional . Library is operational, ebooks also available . Basketball, cricket, football field also present. The buildings are surrounded by a pond at the middle .
Study environment is very good. Professors are highly qualfied. Doubts are solved on a daily basis. One-to-one conversation. Aot is under Makaut university. Syllabus is completed within the stipulated time.
Placement begins starting from 3rd year. Companies take their assessments and interviews. On-campus placements take place. Internships are also provided based on skills. MNC and non-MNC both visits the college for recruitment.
Our college have all the necessary facilities and equipment. No doubt the college infrastructure is large and it makes a perfect environment for study. In every classrooms they have projectors installed. The laboratories are clean with working all equipment's and students need to follow strict rule within libraries, laboratories and even in the hostel. WiFi is available 24 X 7 only for hostellers. And the ground is vast and open all the time except lecture hours. Also they have basketball court within the premises. Overall the campus is clean and hygienic.
I persuaded B.tech degree in computer science and engineering department from this college. I was selected by wbjee. The quality of teaching depends on faculty to be true. Some of them are so helpful and will guide you till the last day of your college. As the college is under MAKAUT University the course curriculum is updated. Before the placements college also prepare you well by mock interviews and placements question patterns.
I think almost every candidate who are intrested in placements drive get a decent job from this college. They prepare well before placement seasons. The percentage of placements is always higher than 100% because most of the candidates bags multiple job offers. The highest salary was bagged by CSE student only from our batch. And the average salary is 4 - 4.5lpa
The semester cost was around 42k. And in some cases they take 10k extra for training classes. I think it's worth it as per the quality of teaching and fees of other colleges(private) its comparatively less.
Although the campus will create a perfect environment to study but by the time you will feel bored because of the place where it is situated. You will get nothing around the college to enjoy after the classes. Hostlers has to abide by the rule to enter hostel within a given time. Teachers are helpful and the support staffs behaves well. So the only cons is the location and its doubtful whether it can handle any unfortunate emergencies from that location.
College organizes yearly events like regatta for freshers and an anual function Arcadia where they invite famous artist to perform live. The college can add some sport event for the daily scholars too, but for now unfortunately the sports events are only for hostellers.
In my previous college the college building to be good and have all the types of facilities that b.tach student need for his/her studies. Also the hostel buildings and auditorium is very good and have a large space.
According to me or my experience the qualification of teachers is very good and you are very helpful. But in my experience I found that there is a lack of ability to teach in the faculties and they always stay back to give extra knowledge.
There is a good placement and have a record of 100% placement with average of 4 lakh. In the sense of ROI it is good because the face is also 4 lakh that indicates good returns. The major recruiters are TCS, congizent and Wipro.
College infrastructure overall is good but needs to be better specially the laboratory for our mechanical department. Classrooms fits the academic requirement. Library is good. Playground is big. Basketball ground makes the campus beautiful.
Academic pressure is there but in long term you will feel it helped you. You will see many of your friends in other MAKAUT affiliated colleges are chilling but beleive me it is usp of AOT. BUT when I passed teaching quality was OK. Yes some teachers were great but some was not really up to the mark. What's the situation now I don't know.
Most weak part of our department. Very rare the core companies came but we had training for campus and everything but then I had a dream to go in the field I studied that is mechanical. But few companies came and they took limited students. But if you are from IT background placement is good.
Overall in long life AOT prepares you for the long fight of life. But yes campussing needs to be better. We can blame everything to the college because we need to up skill ourselves in today's job market.
Campus life was full of struggle. Attend lab, do regular classes, submit assignment in due date. Fun was there in college fest that is ARCADIA. College prepares you for corporate. 4 years will be long but fulfilling.
Academically one of the best private colleges affiliated to MAKAUT. But placement for Core branches needs to be improved. I commented on everything based on my experience from 2015 to 2019. Situation in 2023 I am not updated of.
Best condition classrooms, the best libraries facilities with NPTEL lecture in e-library section, good football and basketball ground, canteen facility inside college premises, girls and boys hostel are available, free Wi-Fi facilities, good architectural designs of the college buildings.
Lectures and professors are highly qualified, good laboratories and high-tech end equipments inside. Air-conditioned computer labs, English developing hall for practicing enhancing English-speaking skills.
Good placement records in several departs like, computer science, electronics and communication, Instrumentation branch, but low core placements are seen in this college. One more thing is that several core branches students get placed in IT sector. So if you want to be get placed, and you are from core branches like mechanical and electrical, then you have to show interest in coding field.
During my time it takes around Rs 90,000 per year excluding hostels charges. According to the Placement records of Academy of technology, it is a value for money because I have seen seniors and my year batch mates are now in good companies.
Campus life is a bit like leaving in village area with not many facilities to have entertainment, but overall it has good campus life. You will enjoy there in annual function where Bollywood singers are invited to entertain students, and this annual function is known as Arcadia.
My college has all up-to-date labs, machines and machineries required to give a full-fledged training to students. Each classroom has got CCTVs, modern boards. Our labs are getting modified to enable students with skills of machine learning and AI. We have centralized digital library, One football ground, one basket ball ground, one volleyball ground. All the labs are extensively used and maintained as well.
I studied electrical engineering, there. The college is extremely strict and will give you a better training of the corporate world. Thus, their quality of education is also good. Teachers are extremely helpful and friendly. Yes, they have upgraded their syllabus and curriculum and made it relevant with the present industry-demand. They are improvising machine learning and artificial intelligence in the present curriculum.
Placements has seen a huge development in recent years in our college. Top companies like Amazon, Maven tic, Capgemini, Infosys, Wipro are coming and recruiting eligible students. Maximum number of students get placed based on their merit and performance.
I don't remember the exact amount but it was surely a value-for-money.
The central, big water body was a huge refresher for all of us. The vastness of our campus is what makes the college different from others. All other private engineering colleges have a separate respect for this college. There are several activities in which students can engage in. Example: tech-fest, freshers, cultural festivals
My own experience in Academy of Technology is awesome. The strict environment in the campus has helped me to become an efficient person both in professional and personal life. Supporting staffs are good too.
Faculties are very good they teaches us to the point so that we can get good marks in the semester exams. They also provide notes that helps a lot in preparation for exams. All faculties are well qualified from IIT,IIEST,IIM etc. Classroom are big and quite airy. 90 students can seat in each classrooms their are two big auditoriums for organizing meetings and intercollege events. The campus is one of the biggest in Kolkata.
I'm studying Computer Science and Business Systems Engineering in this college. I'm currently in 2nd year. This stream is very interesting and not too much different from CSE but it has some extra papers which makes it more interesting than CSE. I prefer this stream over CSE as it is more advance that CSE. This course has several papers from MBA which will help you to prepare for GATE,CAT exams as well and there is several paper related to Machine Learning also.
AOT is giving more than 85 percent placements in all branches from past 5-6 years and it's leading the race in the current college industry. Many renowned companies like TCS,Cognizant,Wipro,Persistent recruits a lot of freshers from our college. Apart from these many other start-up companies also visit our campus. The avg package is near about 4lpa and the highest is 9lpa. The placement process is very smooth. College supports all students in their placement experience.
The course duration is 4 years and there are 2 semesters in each year. So total 8 semesters. Semester fees are around 40000 and their is extra 10k for the even semesters which is taken as a skill development fees. From my point of view the fees is much worthy as college provides us many training courses like spoken english, aptitude classes, java trainings , project bulidings and much more.
Campus is very beautiful and it is one of the biggest and finest campus in the whole Kolkata. In the middle of it there is a big pool in the campus. It has a big football ground , a basket-ball ground, a volleyball ground in front of a well-designed canteen. The canteen is very big and the food quality is also good.
If you're finding a well disciplined college then go for it . Undoubtedly it is very good in respect of study.
Dear aspirant,
Yes, to get into academy of technology college you need to give wbjee entrance .
The cut off for the computer science branch generally stays around 30k but it can go either up or down depending on the certain factors like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.
