Angel College of Engineering and Technology, Tirupur Admission Process

Angel College of Engineering and Technology (ACET), Tirupur, is a constituent college approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute provides a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate engineering courses, with an intake of 465 students and 85 faculty members. ACET's admission process is aimed at choosing meritorious candidates for its different branches of engineering.

The ACET usually takes place coinciding with the academic year that would typically get under way from August-September. Undergraduate programs mainly recruit through the performance of students at the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). The TANCET is a common entrance test undertaken at the state level for entering the engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility criteria for undergraduate courses in ACET are passing 10+2 or equivalent examination from a known board. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics should have been studied as main subjects during their higher secondary schooling. 

Application Process

Application process at Angel College of Engineering and Technology, Tirupur is as follows:

1. Registration for TANCET: One should register themselves in the TANCET examination from the official TANCET website. Here one has to submit the application form, upload supporting documents, and pay the specified application fee.

2. TANCET Examination: Candidates are required to sit for the TANCET exam on the set date. The exam is usually composed of topics that relate to the intended program.

3. TANCET Result: Candidates must wait for the TANCET result to be released after the examination. The results are normally available on the official TANCET website.

4. College Application: As soon as the TANCET results are released, suitable candidates can apply for ACET. The college can have its own application form, which must be filled in with correct details.

5. Document Submission: The applicants have to submit several documents, which can include:

  • TANCET score card
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • Transfer certificate
  • Community certificate (if applicable)
  • Date of birth proof
  • Passport-size photographs taken recently

6. Counselling Process: Shortlisted candidates can be invited for a counselling session at ACET. Candidates can opt for their desired course during this process based on their TANCET rank and seat availability.

7. Fee Payment: Candidates have to pay the fees specified when seats are allotted, confirming their admission.

8. Final Admission: Following successful fulfillment of all the above steps and validation of documents, the candidate is admitted to ACET.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.E./B.Tech: ACET has six undergraduate engineering courses, each with an intake of 60 students. The courses are Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Fashion Technology, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The admissions to these courses are done on the basis of TANCET scores and the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination (10+2).

M.E.: There are four postgraduate engineering courses in the college: Computer Science and Engineering (24 seats), Embedded Systems (18 seats), VLSI Design (9 seats), and Engineering Design (9 seats). All these programs have admissions depending on TANCET scores as well. All the applicants must hold a suitable bachelor's degree in engineering for their admissions in these courses.
