Arignar Anna Institute of Science and Technology, Kancheepuram Admission Process

Arignar Anna Institute of Science and Technology (AAIST), Kancheepuram, set up as a self-financing engineering college, has carved a niche for itself in engineering education. The institute provides various undergraduate engineering programs and has a well-defined admission system to take in candidates with merit. The admission procedures at AAIST aim to evaluate and bring within its fold those students with a reputed academic background and promise of excellence in engineering.

Usually, the admission cycle of AAIST is in sync with Tamil Nadu's academic calendar. Usually, the application for admissions is announced during May-June for the academic session commencing in the months of August-September. B.Tech and BE courses require the candidate to be a pass in the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with compulsory subjects being Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics; they, therefore, are expected to have a fairly clear knowledge of these subjects, considering that they are the base of engineering learning at AAIST.

It follows the merit list laid down by the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), the state counseling for engineering admissions in Tamil Nadu. The candidates are to qualify for different relevant entrance examinations, including those like TNEA or Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main depending on the notifications issued by the government during that year.

Application Process

The admission process generally follows these steps at the AAIST, Kancheepuram:

1. Candidates must qualify for the respective entrance examination (TNEA or JEE Main) for that particular academic year as per the admission policies.

2. Eligible candidates can apply through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) portal or through the process stipulated by the state higher education department for that academic year.

3. Based on certain codes, fill the form with accurate personal and academic details. Ensure that all the details are accurate and match with the documents that need to be submitted.

4. Upload the relevant documents, generally including:

  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • Entrance exam score card
  • Proof of date of birth
  • Community certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other certificates as specified in the application guidelines

5. Pay the application fee through the available means (mostly online payment options will be available).

6. After the submission, check the status of the application through the TNEA portal or directives from AAIST.

7. If shortlisted, participate in the counseling process for seat allocation.

8. Upon being allocated a seat, report to Arignar Anna Institute of Science and Technology for document verification and admission confirmation within the stipulated timeline.

9. Complete the admission formalities during fee payment and enrollment as guided by the institute.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech/BE: Arignar Anna Institute of Science and Technology (AAIST) offers all six programs at the undergraduate level in engineering, namely, BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and B.Tech in information Technology.
